The mechanical properties, rheological properties, crystal properties and microstructure of Nano-CaCO3/Elastomer/PP nanocomposites were systematically investigated in this paper. Moreover, the synergistic toughening function of nanosized CaCO3 and elastomer on PP matrix was discussed primarily.The mechanical properties of PP composites modified by adding nano-CaCO3 particles were investigated by testing of impact strength, tensile strength and bending modulus. The effects of nano-CaCO3 to the dispersion of elastomer were described and discussed on the basis of PCM and TEM; the dispersion of nano-CaCO3 particles and elastomer in PP matrix was described and discussed based on the results of TEM. The rheological property of PP composites, was characterized by Brabender rheometer. The crystallinity of the composites was discussed on the basis of the results of PLM, DSC. The effects of nano-CaCO3's surface property on the mechanical property of PP composites were also studied.
