This thesis firstly analyzes the domestic and international RS monitoring programs on vegetation eco-environment and illustrates the significance of vegetation eco-environment evaluation based on RS information model. Secondly, with vegetation eco-environment as the object of RS monitoring, the thesis introduces the establishment of the related RS background value and the abstraction of the indexes of the key factors involved. Based on linear fitting method, detailed steps of establishing vegetation eco-environment's RS background value are summed up. This helps set up the value system required in extensive application of RS technology in vegetation eco-environment evaluation and establish the relevant technical methods of RS monitoring. Thirdly, multi-source RS information from various sources (The RS information of Fuzhou city, which is the key area in this research, focuses on TM data, while that of Fujian province, which is not the key research area, centers round MODIS data) is employed to establish RS evaluation models, which are used to establish an RS background value and then evaluate the current situation of the vegetation eco-environment of the research area. Lastly, on the basis of vegetation eco-environment evaluation, a comprehensive RS analysis is made on the spatial distribution features, and processes and causes of dynamic changes of the vegetation eco-environment.
