Polymer flooding, as one of most important EOR technologies, has been applied industrially. HPAM, which is widely used as a viscous agent at present, is of unfavorable temperature and/or salinity tolerances, resulting from its molecular structure characteristics. That will not result in favorable polymer flooding when HPAM is used in the high temperature and salinity reservoir. Aimed at the situation of relatively higher temperature and salinity in most reservoir of our country, it has become urgent affairs to develop a kind of polymer with good temperature and/or salinity tolerance and shear resistance to enlarge the application of polymer flooding.Based on hydrophobically associating water-soluble polymer having good properties (research on high-effective viscosifying, good temperature and/or salinity tolerance and shear resistance etc at the aspect of molecular structure), it has been investigated and evaluated in the application of HAWSP flooding technology to enhance recovery of Wei305 block in Zhongyuan oilfield, which is the typical super-high temperature and salinity oilfield. Combined with reservoir geologic characteristic and exploitation situation in Wei305 block, by lab experiment HAWSP solution properties and flooding effectiveness has been investigated in the Wei305 reservoir. Then, according to the lab experiment, FAPMS is used as a simulator to optimize HAWSP flooding injection procedure, slug size and chemical concentration. It also forecasts the production gain and the enhanced oil recovery of HAWSP flooding than water displacement economical limit. In addition, the technically economic results of HAWSP flooding has been preliminarily appraised. These results indicate that the HAWSP flooding is a EOR technology economically.
