Characteristics of the two-phase aqueous and its extraction principle were introduced. A review was given on the application of the aqueous two-phase extraction, especially on domestic and international research. At the same time, the general rules of aqueous two-phase extraction were explored. Herb medicine glycyrrhiza and cellulase whose are abundant and are wide range of application by the aqueous two-phase extraction was studied. The specific subjects as bellow:Firstly the two aqueous two-phase system of PEG/(NH4)2SO4 and PEG/K2HPO4 were compared, then the better system was used for the aqueous two -phase extraction.Secondly the cellulase liquid as the raw material were extracted by the aqueous two-phase .The influences of molecular weight of PEG, concentrations of PEG and salt, PH value ,the phase volum ratio etc, the extraction rate and the partition coefficients were studied. The optimum condition was also determined. Finally glycyrrhiza as the raw material were extracted by the aqueous two-phase. The influences of the extraction time, temperature, theextractant ration (filtrate/extractant), quantity ration were studied. The optimum condition was also determined. Then their mutual different reasons were analyzed.
