Clinical Observation On The Curative Effect Of Moxibustion With Blade Needle In The Treatment Of Third Lumbar Transverse Process Syndrome

ObjectiveEvaluate moxibustion with blade needle of clinical effect in the treatment of third lumbar transverse process syndrome,curative effect on moxibustion with blade needle and indications were analyzed,to elaborate the advantages of moxibustion with blade needle and discuss its application prospect.In order to apply a theoretical foundation for needle to establish a relatively perfet clinical practices and a better therapy for the third lumbar transverse process syndrome.Methods96 cases with third lumbar transverse process syndrome patientswere randomly divided into three groups:the moxibustion with blade needle experiment group(n=32),the blade needle control group(n=32)and the traditonal moxibustion acupuncture control group(n=32).The moxibustion with blade needle experiment group was treated with a blade needle and used to treat the pain point or tender point Ashi point at the end of the transverse process of the third lumbar vertebra,after the blade needle treatment,use a 2cm moxa stick to ignite the sheath on the needle handle for moxibustion,warm acupuncture is performed;the blade needle control group only uses the blade needle to treat the tenderness point Ashi at the end of the transverse process of the third lumbar vertebra,and the blade needle relaxes the tender points or cords;the traditonal moxibustion acupuncture control group were given acupuncture acupuncture points treatment,and then a 2cm moxa stick is used to ignite the sheath on the needle handle for warming needles.the groups of patients choose points consistent.According to the“Chinese diseasediagnosis and efficacy of standard”.By the use of McGill pain questionnaire which is internationally recognized,patients accept the score assessment of PPI before and after the treatment session;patients accept the score assessment of VAS before and after the treatment session by visual analogue scale(VAS);by JOA lumbar function scale,assess the improvement of the function;by Oswestry Disability Index questionnaire function(ODI)and modified Barthel index(MBI),assessthe quality of lifeimprovement;by self rating anxiety scale(SAS)and self rating depression scale(SDS),assessthe mental status.All datas were analyzed using statistical software SPSS 21.0.Results1.Patient Inclusion and Analysis:Initially,the study included 96 patients who met the inclusion criteria,but ultimately,only 90 patients were included in the analysis.These patients were divided into three groups:the Warm Blade Needle Test Group,the Blade Needle Control Group,and the Warm Needle Control Group,with 30 patients in each group.An additional 6 patients were excluded due to not meeting the trial requirements or other reasons.There were no statistically significant differences(P>0.05)in baseline indicators among the three groups,including age,gender,duration of illness,PPI scores,VAS scores,JOA lumbar function scores,ODI scores,MBI scores,SAS scores,and SDS scores,demonstrating the comparability of the three groups.2.Clinical Efficacy Comparison:There were significant differences in the clinical efficacy of the three groups of patients after treatment.The Warm Blade Needle Test Group exhibited the best treatment outcome,with a total effective rate of 96.67%.The Blade Needle Control Group ranked second,with a total effective rate of 73.33%,while the Warm Needle Control Group had an effective rate of 80.00%.This suggests that the Warm Blade Needle may be an effective treatment method that significantly improves patient symptoms.3.Pain Assessment:Prior to treatment,there were no significant differences in pain levels(PPI scores and VAS scores)among the three groups.However,after treatment,all three groups showed varying degrees of pain relief,with the Warm Blade Needle Test Group demonstrating the most significant improvement,which was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.Functional Evaluation:Regarding lumbar spine function(JOA lumbar function scores)and quality of life(ODI scores),there were no significant differences among the three groups before treatment.However,after treatment,all three groups showed varying degrees of improvement,with the Warm Blade Needle Test Group showing the greatest improvement,which was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.Emotional State Assessment:There were no significant differences in the emotional states(SAS scores and SDS scores)of the three groups of patients before treatment.However,after treatment,all three groups showed improvements in emotional states,with the Warm Blade Needle Test Group exhibiting the most significant improvement,which was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusionmoxibustion with blade needle has significant curative effect in the treatment of third lumbar transverse process syndrome,can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and signs of third lumbar transverse process syndrome,and has a good therapeutic effect on pain,which is better than single use of blade acupuncture therapy and traditional moxibustion acupuncture therapy:First,this therapy exerts the cutting effect of the blade needle knife.The blade needle can effectively cut and loosen the fascia muscle ligament of the local tissue adhesion to relieve the nerve compression;secondly,the warm blade needle also has the same acupuncture and moxibustion.The therapeutic effect,therefore,exerts the two-way regulating effect of acupuncture and moxibustion,which stimulates the circulation of qi and blood in the body’s meridians,so as to achieve the effects of promoting qi and blood circulation,dredging the meridians and relieving pain.However,the blade needle is thicker than the filiform needle,so it can more effectively stimulate the movement of the body’s meridian qi machine and achieve a better needle transport effect.Finally,the moxibustion is used in the warm blade needle to achieve the effect of moxibustion.With the effect of supplementing the middle and nourishment,moxibustion with moxibustion can also warm the meridians and relieve cold,promote qi and dredge collaterals,reduce swelling and collapse,and relieve pain.Therefore,the moxibustion with blade needle can play the complementary role of needle,knife and moxibustion,and the treatment is simple and easy,with less pain,once a week,and has the characteristics of time-saving,economical,safe,good curative effect,long-lasting,and no side effects.
