OBJECTIVETo demonstrate the efficacy and safety of combining Dye Pulse Light(DPL,narrow-spectrum intense pulsed light 500-600nm)and CO2fractional laser for the treatment of Hypertrophic Scar Color.METHODSBetween January 2015 and June 2017,3494 patients with hypertrophic scar were treated standardly with 3 times of a combining DPL and CO2 fractional laser at 2-3 months intervals in Shanghai JiaoTong University School of Medicine Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital.Photographs were taken before each treatment and after 3months of the last treatment. The Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),there parameters(L*a*b*)and color difference(ΔE*94)measured by photography and CIELAB color space, and the assessment of side effects were investigated for clinical efficacy and safety.Data analyzed by SPSS25.0 t test,P<0.05 means different,P<0.001 means significantly different.RESULTSAfter 3 times treatments,L*values of hypertrophic scars increased from 59.18±7.08 to 67.47±7.92,a*values decreased from 23.43±4.45 to17.39±3.41,b*values decreased from 14.41±4.39 to 13.86±4.21,and ΔE*94 decreased from 18.79±7.12 to 10.15±6.78.Those results indicated that hypertrophic scars were lighter, less red after treatments, and were a statistically significant difference between pre-and post-treatments(P<0.001).Besides,VAS score decreased from 8.88±2.90to 3.51±1.96,which was a statistically significant difference between pre-and post-treatments(P<0.001)and indicated that the rigidity, thickness, texture and hyperemia of hypertrophic scars improved after treatments.Furthermore, side effects were limited to pigmentation and erythema and the incidence of side effects was 0.13%.Moreover,82.54%of patients were satisfied about the efficacy of treatments.CONCLUSIONSThe combination of DPL and CO2 fractional laser is an potential effective and safety resource for the improvement of hypertrophic scar color. |
