With the acceleration of modernization process of China,the demand for energy and mineral resources has increased dramatically. Holdings of existing resources can not satisfy the social requirements of sustainable development. And with the dwindling outcrop mines, the difficulty and risk of exploration is increasing rapidly. The method of exploration and prospecting theory face new challenges.It is the practical needs to Geogas.This paper summarizes the development of Geogas in domestic and foreign ,including Geogas method proposed,sampling technique, analysis and detection methods, the model of formation and migration mechanisms of Geogas, to study the validity of Geogas , the practical application of prospecting and etc.In some kind of landscape conditions in china ,Geogas surveying is carried out over concealed deposits. A program has been completed, including preparation indoor, sample analysis, field layout, processing and analysis of data,Geogas interpretation,and etc. According to the low content of elements in Geogas samples, test means and test quality control measures has been founded. The accuracy of the sample test is improved.Under different kind of landscape conditions and concealed ore bodies,it is found that cover layer can not affect Geogas survey. Geogas survey can capture the geochemistry information from deep concealed deposits. By large numbers of studies of Geogas surveying, it is confirmed that spatial location of the indicator elements of Geogas coincide with the concealed deposits. Element association of Geogas coincides with the concealed ore, different from cover layer and wallrock. Chalcophile elements are captured easily by liquid collector.Geogas Substance experienced Long geological period, from generation and migration process under different Geological body and Physical and chemical conditions. It is different in substance concentration and composition from initial state.Through study on Pb isotope of Geogas, ore ,wallrock and covered soil , Lead isotope model of Geogas in anomalous area coincides with the concealed ore’s, is different from wallrock and covered soil’s. Lead of Geogas in anomalous area is from the concealed orebodies,also affected weakly by other geological bodies . This is material for the establishment of Geogas formation and migration to provide a powerful model of experimental data. Element transport model make progress from the hypothetical to the actual verification.In a variety of coverage conditions and geochemical effects of conventional obvious cases, Geogas surveying can indicate some kind of concealed deposits. It has not only of great theoretical significance, but also to promote the concealed deposits of mineral geochemical exploration techniques.
