Study Of The Issue Of Property Rights Of The Chinese Newspaper Industry

This dissertation is the study of the property rights of Chinese newspaper industry. Nowadays, more and more new situation is beyond our understanding, especially in the field of cultural industry, we urgently need new theory and new ideas to analyze this reality. In our time, the concept and appearlance of wealth have changed greatly, the development of cultural industry ,including Chinese newspaper industry, will exercise much influence over Chinese economy and cultural power. Our journalism theory in times of planned economy can no longer explain and generalize the phenomena in the field of cultural industry, and even become the shakles of cultural industry. Communication theories mainly originated from sociology, it also can't well explain some new questions in cultural industry.This dissertation adopts the hypothesis of rational economic man of economics when analyzing the property rights of Chinese newspaper industry. Rational economic man is the logic starting point of the discussion, when someone acts, he will choose the best way which can bring forth good fruit for himself, so we can deduce theories of the property rights of Chinese newspaper industry. At the same time, we can generalize theories about the property rights of Chinese newspaper industry by researching the history and the structure of property rights of the newspaper from Late Qing Dynasty on.Behind the relations of property rights are the relations between people and institutions, the reforming of property rights can influence the relations above, and the behavior of people too. The different structure of property rights will produce different stimulation mechanism, thus shaping the present situation and future of Chinese newspaper industry. We can devide the property rights of Chinese newspaper industry into three parts:the ownership, the use and the distribution of the profits. By reforming any of the three parts we can get different results, and so we can formulate different schemes to achieve desirable objectives.This dissertation is to achieve three aims. Firstly, the reform of the press and publishing system carried out now is an arduous and profound task, the theories of this dissertation can give support to this reform. Secondly, this dissertation also researches the private journalism from Late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, which can provide reference to today's decision when we manage the cultural industry. Thirdly, the press and publishing system is part of political systems of a nation, it shapes the mode of information communication, its reform will also influence a country's way of governance, this dissertation analyzes its logic, aiming to get new knowldege about this subject.
