The prevailing power of the empire of media has widely influenced and fundamentally changed modern life experience in the sense of phenomenology, and in consequence, aesthetic consciousness and aesthetic phenomenon have also undergone significant changes. Concerning this question, scholars have already done valuable explorations. In logic, view points and attitudes etc., however, there remain some room for arguments and further study, which lay the foundation for the present research. This dissertation consists of introduction, the body and conclusion. The introduction explicates how media enter people's life and how the relevant discourse enter theory and points out that the present study of literature and art, and aesthetics are witnessing a historical turn of research, that is, the turn of media research. Based on this, this part introduces the starting point, the reasoning and methodology of this study. The body first offers interpretations of the two basic question of"media"and"aesthetics", which is followed by the meeting and confrontation of the two as well as the consequences. The first two chapters study the question of"media". The understanding of media should be carried out from the level of technology as well as culture. Viewed from the perspective of technology, media is the instrument of the production, transferring and representation of aesthetic culture (it thus questions the narrowness of"communication media"); from the perspective of culture, as concrete cultural texts of films and TVs, news, advertisement etc., media has with it the cultural quality. For this reason, the cultural logic of electronic media is divided into the logic of technological culture and consumerist culture, the former being the content of the first chapter and the latter the second chapter. The first chapter studies the logic of technological culture of media from the three stages of its production activities: the production, transferring and representation. The second chapter is about the consumerist cultural logic of electronic media, emphasizing the quality of consumerist culture is the result of media culture's own effort. That is because media culture, in some degree, is an important media from the society of production to the society of consumption, which means media culture is the"cause"of consumer culture; at the same time, media culture is also the"result"of consumer culture. The two of them constitutes a relationship of co-construction with the same quality, which provides the following argument a logical media, that is, consumer culture is often taken as a transitional mechanism and necessary joint. The third chapter analyzes the question of"aesthetics", which is the logic foundation of this dissertation, the definition of which will decide the direction of the argument, at a deeper level it is also concerned with the theoretical value and depth of this study. The historical review reduces the core of aesthetics as"sensibility". Different from the usual sensibility, aesthetic sensibility has multiple connotations: the"truthfulness", the"goodness"and the"divinity", the outer discursive representation shows the feature of rhetoric and construction. The forth chapter is the logical development of the previous three chapters and the conclusion of this study. With the cultural logic of media as the motivation and the aesthetic content the result, it explains in detail how the two meet and interact and the connection and situation of that meeting and interaction, summarizing two paradoxes: the return of"aesthetic"sensibility and the loss of connotative spirit, the representation of which being more rhetorical and less explorative. This leads to the hollownization and historicalization of the classical concept of"aesthetics". This result is mainly based on the traditional and classic modernist stands of"aesthetics", it sees more of the"aesthetic hurt". At the end of the chapter, this study interprets the new points of the growth of"aesthetics"in the context of media to supplement and perfect the relevant argument with the purpose of achieving completeness and faithfulness both at the level of logic construction and experience representation. In the concluding part, on the basis of a comprehensive understanding of the attitude and history of media cultural studies, the author of this dissertation suggests that concrete study should take both the fragment and continuity of the question, with a paradoxical attitude both critical and open as its foundation and try to avoid narrow interpretations of the elites and the nationalists. Such an attitude, of course, is not the logical result of inference, but the gift of historical wisdom.
