Properties of traps in rare-earth doped alkaline earth sulfide, behavior of traps of BaFxCl2-x: Eu in different exciting stage, trap's properties related to optical storage have been studied and new types materials with better performance have been developed and studied.1. Preparation of some rare-earth doped II-IV compounds and properties of their traps. CaS/SrS powder sample doped singly with Sm and co-doped with Sm and Eu was prepared by a method of insulating oxygen and supplying sulfur. The Samples give out bright photostimulated luminescence. This method increases preparation efficiency, simplifies progress, decreases waste of raw materials and prevents pollution. Absorption properties in blank and storage stage when they are used to UV storage were studied. The cause of absorption difference related to electron trapping process was studied and analyzed. From this base, change and function of doped rare earth ions was studied. 2. Studies on properties of traps in BaFxCl2-x: EuBaFxCl2-x: Eu, with good PSL property, has been prepared by carbon reducing method. Absorption properties of samples before and after UV irradiation were studied. Behavior of traps during read out stage was studied through absorption and PSL. Valence varying of Eu2+ ions and their function in optical storage were studied. Role of O2- in PSL and impact of reducing condition to traps were discussed. Relationship of different F/Cl ratio with trap's concentration was studied. Process of electron trapping optical storage of this kind of ETM was discussed from above research. Then,some storage performance were present in result from differential absorption. Simulation of differential of this type material was made.3. Preparation and study of some new type of ETMOxyfluoride glass ceramic based on ZnF2/SiO2 was developed, which exhibits a better resolution. PSL mechanism was discussed basing on XRD etc. Mixed crystal liked CsBr: Eu, with high M value and good luminescence performance, was prepared and PSL mechanism was studied with simulation of PSL decay. PSL of UV irradiated BaLiF3:Eu2+ and its electron trap were studied with Themoluminescence.Finally, a conclusion of this dissertation and tentative plan about next step were given.
