Spleen is not the anatomic organ in TCM, but a comprehensive system about the anatomy of human, material metabolism, physical function, and pathological changes. The purpose of this research is to provide view for the characteristics of spleen system in disease-location and the distribution for its basic syndrome, to use suitable statistical method to build the regulations of type of basic syndrome and its main syndrome, and discuss the combined regulations of the spleen system syndrome, so as to build a series of scientific, rational and practical systems in the end, providing guilds and technology to refer to. It improves diagnostic system of spleen in five internal organs and standard diagnosis in clinic of Chinese Medicine.The research uses methods of studying literatures by consulting associated literatures of ancient and present times. We have obtained fullscale information of Traditional Chinese Medical syndrome associated with spleen system and built a database of it. This paper draws out types of basic syndromes and a system of main symptoms index associated with cycle of menstruation and quantity of menstruation. We summarize a large number of medical cases and clinical reports involving about 1600 in hospitals and analyze clinical information and diagnosis in the case with the assistant of SPSS software by the data with correspondence analysis. Further improving the physical function of kidney system and relationship between disease-location and laboratory ancillary tests are standardized by statistical analysis. This Paper adopts 26 experts consultation to value characteristics of disease-location and the supposed types of basic syndromes in spleen system.The combination of single disease-location and disease property is basic syndrome. Literature studying, record investigation and sepcialist consulting are used to analysis the disease-location features and basic syndromes of spleen system. We conclude 16 types of syndromes:syndrome of deficiency of Spleen Qi, syndrome of sinking of qi due to deficiency of spleen, syndrome of deficiency of Spleen Yang, syndrome of deficiency of Spleen Yin, syndrome of spleen unable to control circulating blood, syndrome of damp encumbering the spleen, syndrome of heat encumbering the spleen, syndrome of cold encumbering the spleen, syndrome of deficiency of Stomach Qi, syndrome of deficiency of Stomach Yang, syndrome of deficiency of Stomach Yin, syndrome of excessiveness of Stomach Fire, syndrome of cold stagnation in the stomach, syndrome of food retention in the stomach, syndrome of stagnation of qi in the stomach, syndrome of blood stasis in the stomach. The paper sets up 16 basic syndromes of conception, terminology and diagnostic criterion, especially probes into clinic information established by laboratory and ancillary tests, and consummates spleen syndromes combined with four categories of clinical information, that include the main symptom, the minor symptom, tongue picture, pulse condition, and assistant examination.We establish the regulations of common spleen types of basic syndrome and main syndrome which suit for clinical regulations of syndrome differentiation and treatment and have a certain science. It provides scientific guides and serve a base of technology for next clinical epidemiologic survey and even for building a series of syndrome differentiation in five viscera systems in the end. Syndrome differentiation includes systematicness and development, syndrome includes specificity and stability. On the basis of the analysis of disease-location in five viscera systems, the research of basic syndromes can be helpful for the treatment according to syndrome differentiation.
