China is a large agricultural country. Process of agriculturalinformatization related to a serious problem about country and peopleexisting. Jilin province is a main agricultural province, and it is one of thefour showcase areas of our country. It took part in the showcase project,which concerned with intelligent agricultural information technologyapplication and has made some achievements. But there is still a commonproblem in agricultural expert system in our country so far. We can resolvesome questions about planting and management of a crop, that is, we canonly make decisions on seeds, soil, water, fertilize and managing ofrequirement in single crop planting. We can't make decisions on analysisabout natural conditions of influence upon agricultural development andbefitting area of all kinds of crops. We do little in informatization aboutagricultural macroscopic-development and work in region information ofstrategy significance. Now development of agricultural expert systemmainly concentrated on resolving questions in a small scale as well asmicroscopic ones. But does not concern with questions in a large scale andmacroscopic ones. Agricultural informatization resolves a small scale,microscopic questions but also a large scale, macroscopic ones. Thus wecan realize agricultural informatization in all kinds of aspects.On the other hand, developments on modern information techniquesupplied technical support for researching a new era decision-makingsystem. With the development of computer network, communication,artificial intelligence and information processing, agent technologyappeared. It becomes a fore subject of AI and distributed informationhandling. People said, "It is a important breakthrough in softwaredevelopment." Combining of agent and distributed figuring techniqueproduced mobile agent, which has made "computing" moiling, executing,resolving various problems and completing all kinds of tasks on line.Meanwhile it makes going "real" sense distributed intelligent decision cometrue. Mobile agent can decrease net load effectively in distributedcomputing, enhance communication rate, has computing power throughvarious platforms, support computing off line, making whenever remoteexchanges, independence exchanges at all time, can suit net environmentactively and provide service individually.Because the requirement of agricultural informatization anddevelopment of new technologies, we began our research. This paperdesigned and studied a new era distributed crop intelligent decision supportsystem. It makes mobile agent of distributed AI melting in studying anddeveloping of the system, offers the architecture and composition, discussessome crucial techniques in the system. We not only find an effectiveprocessing method for intelligent decision system but also further enrichcontents of mobile agent techniques.There are five chapters in the paper. Studying major content in everypart is as follows:First chapter introduced the developing current situation ofIDSS\researching background of the paper and main substance.Second chapter recommended a no-mobile intelligent technique inIDSS. It included designing technology of structure, processing techniqueof knowledge and intelligent technology of resolving complicated problemin IDSS.Third chapter stated a mobile intelligent technology in IDSS, that ismobile agent technique, It included basic concept, structure of system,serving facility, key technology, operation technique of each other andsecurity and so on. It mainly recommended developing plat of mobileagent---Aglets by IBM company making, and at last introduced basicstructural form of crop IDSS in mobile intelligent environment.Fourth chapter explained in detail developing technology of a new eradistributed decision support system of crop. It included developing goal andenvironment of system, structure function of system, building of resourcebase, key technology, moving analyses, production prediction mode andmathematics model of prediction, at last it introduced decision example ofsystem and result.Fifth chapter is summarizing and outlook. It summed up work of thispaper, new creative results and pointed out existing problems as well asenvision to related studying in the future.The main outcome of the paper and new creative results are as follows:1. Developing "a new era distributed decision support system of crop."The system is an integrated system of intelligent decision support system ,distributed IDSS and mobile agent in architecture and function , it is also anintegrated technology of decision computing , AI reasoning , agent , mobileagent , communication , net and agricultural information techniques . Thesystem realized net intelligent decision in a "real" sense. It hascharacteristics of decision, intelligence, distribution, mobility and runningparallel with processing.2. We firstly apply technique about mobile agent to agriculturalintelligent decision system. On account of mobile agent itself can carry itscode and status moving to remote resource, when system is underdecision-making, mobile agent can process a great deal of data andknowledge in data and information resource locally, reduce net load indistributed computing, overcome shortcomings about delaying andinstability of net environments. At the same time, mobile agent can supportoff-line computing, remote exchange in different steps and independentinterchange, suit active net environment. It can make load averagelyeverywhere, enhance rate of decisions. Using mobile agent –basedintelligent decision system offered technique support for policy–makingbody, leaders, agricultural technicians and farmers mastering overallsituation and making different kinds of decision, also provided scientificbasis and technical methods for technicians and farmers regulating plantingstructures to increase production and harvest.3. Offer a kind of mode about crop output prediction. It makes systemfurther, turn into agricultural production active superintend managementsystem. Mode of crop output prediction is a basis of agricultural intelligentdecision system and one of the key technologies. It related directly toscience and precision of system prediction and influence quality and result.We found the relation of crop production with condition of growth andrealized the change law of various periods with influential level of growinginformation. Through many times of visiting agricultural experts, studyingand exploring, we summed up together a kind of mode of crop productionprediction. That is according to the crop growing law;we divided the courseinto sowing season, growing season and ripe season for running prediction.According to active changing situations and theories techniques, ways ofcrop management, we make good use of production resource and carry outprediction, adjust managing mechanism, take measures for increasingproduction. We can imagine if dividing details and finding out reasons forproduction changing, meanwhile adjusting managing mechanism,improving measures, the system will change into active supervising systemof crop. We call it digital management system. It will be embryonic form ofagricultural and crop informatization.4. Sum up a quota system of crops (including corn, rice and soybean).Target system is a combination of perfect resource factors;reflecting therelations among resource factors. It contained model of productionpredicting, knowledge, knowledge presentation, diversified reasoningmechanism and their relations. It is a perfect quota system, practicallyconforming to reality. After years of experiments, it proved that effect isbetter.Sense of researching of the paper is as follow:It firstly put the agent technology into IDSS of crop and madeagricultural macroscopic intelligent technology promotion to a new level ,made decision more scientific, faster and more practical;Advancing of aquota system offered experiments for else crop output prediction andobtaining of quota system about quality evaluation;Gaining of a modeabout crop output prediction gave a new way and a mode can be used forour reference to else crops;Mode of production prediction offered effectivechannel for us making good use of local resource, carrying out movingwatching and controlling, adjusting management ,gearing up production andit made people seeing a embryonic form of agricultural informatization.
