| In China today,economic growth accompanied by excessive income gap constitutes a "characteristic fact" of China’s economic transformation,which has led to regional economic imbalance,social unrest,uneven distribution of resources and other problems that have seriously hindered China’s sustainable economic growth;at the same time,environmental problems brought about by rapid economic growth,such as haze,water pollution and land desertification,have not been solved at all.At the same time,the environmental problems brought about by rapid economic growth,such as haze,water pollution,and land desertification,have not been fundamentally solved.Therefore,the 14 th Five-Year Plan lists "optimizing income distribution structure" and "continuously improving environmental quality" as one of our 2035 visionary goals.In this context,based on the importance of income gap and environmental quality in China’s economic growth process,and the fact that "sharing" and "green" represent the new development concept that China is implementing nowadays,it is important to explore and clarify whether income gap has an impact on economic growth and whether environmental quality has an impact on economic growth.It is important to explore and clarify whether income gap has an impact on economic growth and the role of environmental quality in both,in order to promote sustainable economic growth and achieve high-quality development in China.This thesis combines economic growth theory,dualistic economic structure theory,Kuznets curve theory,environmental Kuznets curve theory,and sustainable development theory to analyze the current situation of income gap,environmental quality,and economic growth in China’s Yangtze River Economic Zone using entropy weight method,dynamic panel model,mediating effect model,and dynamic threshold panel model,as well as the impact of income gap on economic growth under the perspective of environmental quality.The study also proposes countermeasures to narrow the income gap,improve environmental quality and promote economic growth.The specific research contents are as follows:(1)Analysis of the mechanism of the role of income gap,environmental quality and economic growth.Based on the connotation of income gap,environmental quality and economic growth,and combined with the existing research results,the mechanism of income gap inhibiting economic growth,income gap affecting economic growth through environmental quality and the threshold effect of environmental quality on economic growth is summarized from the theoretical level,which provides the theoretical basis for the construction of the model in the later paper.(2)Evaluation and analysis of income gap,environmental quality and economic growth.Based on the connotation and characteristics of environmental quality and economic growth,we construct an evaluation system of environmental quality and economic growth indicators,and measure the level of environmental quality and economic growth by using the entropy weight method,and select indicators to measure the income gap and measure the income gap.It is found that the income gap in the Yangtze River Economic Zone has an "inverted U-shaped" trend,and the environmental quality and economic growth levels have a continuous upward trend,and there is regional heterogeneity in the upper,middle and lower reaches.(3)The empirical analysis of income gap,environmental quality and economic growth.The dynamic panel model,intermediate effect model and dynamic threshold panel model are used to analyze the impact of income gap on economic growth,and the intermediate effect and threshold effect played by environmental quality in the relationship between the two.It is concluded that income gap in Yangtze River Economic Zone has a suppressive effect on economic growth,and environmental quality plays a part of intermediary effect and single threshold effect in the process of income gap affecting economic growth,with the improvement of environmental quality income gap on economic growth shows the characteristics of first promoting and then suppressing.(4)Summarization and suggestions.Based on the findings of the previous sections,we propose countermeasures to narrow the income gap,improve environmental quality,and promote economic growth. |
