In recent years,against the backdrop of a downward trend in China’s economic development and a further decline in the international economic level,the financial market in which the Bank of East Asia is located is becoming increasingly complex,and the development situation is full of instability.Under the dual pressure of domestic regulation and the international situation,there is more intense competition among peers,with the direct impact being the slowdown in profit growth and continued pressure on asset quality,Especially affected by the current situation of significant impact and negative effects of Internet finance on banking retail business,the operating situation of banking institutions has become more severe and the development space has been further compressed.Based on this,it is necessary for commercial banks to accelerate the pace of transformation and accelerate the development and construction of a comprehensive risk management mechanism.This article takes the retail credit business of Bank of East Asia Branch Z as the object,and from the perspective of risk management,uses case analysis,questionnaire analysis,and literature review methods to comprehensively evaluate the risk management measures taken by the bank’s retail credit business,revealing the policy risks,operational risks,legal risks,compliance risks,and collateral risks it faces.Currently,the prominent drawbacks and problems of risk management in Z Branch’s retail credit business include:(1)The organizational mechanism of retail management is not perfect Insufficient construction of retail credit risk management team;(3)The handling process of retail credit business is not professional enough;(4)Lagging construction of risk management database for retail credit business.After in-depth analysis of the above issues,it can be concluded that the specific causes are:(1)lack of attention to risk management;(2)Lack of professional credit review talents;(3)Inadequate implementation of internal control system for retail credit;(4)Insufficient technical support for retail credit business.In terms of retail credit business risk management,in order to help Bank of East Asia Branch Z achieve further improvement,this article provides the following improvement strategies: Bank of East Asia should further optimize the risk management process based on the principles of "model driven,classified management,early warning,active exit,and effective transmission",and provide protection in terms of system,personnel,and system around the implementation of risk management,Specifically,it includes:(1)building and improving the personal credit risk rating system;(2)For retail credit business,it is necessary to improve the risk management mechanism;(3)Improve the talent development system for retail credit risk management;(4)Improve the risk management level of the entire retail credit process;(5)Improve the digital risk control management level of retail credit.This paper is not only conducive to improving the current level of risk management measures related to retail credit business used by Bank of East Asia Branch Z,but also provides useful reference suggestions for the healthy development and stable operation of other banks in the field of retail credit business.
