Research On The Relationship Between Senior Executives’ Overseas Background、Technological Innovation And Enterprise Internationalization Performance

Abstract/Summary:
With the integration of global economy,enterprises begin to face the situation of "internationalization of domestic competition and internalization of international competition".Under this background,in order to expand a larger market share and maintain their own competitive advantages,more and more enterprises begin to develop overseas business.With the continuous influx of overseas talents,overseas talents as senior executives will have a great impact on the business decisions and management strategies of enterprises.Therefore,this paper will discuss the relationship between the two,and also introduce technology innovation as the intermediary variable between the external background of executives and enterprise internationalization performance.Based on the high ladder team theory,the research hypothesis is proposed.The data of China’s A-share listed companies from 2010 to 2020 are selected for research.The results show that senior executives with overseas background will positively affect the enterprises internationalization performance.The overseas working background senior have a good influence on the enterprises internationalization performance than the overseas learning background senior.At the same time,the influence of senior executives’ overseas background in non-state-owned enterprises is stronger than state-owned enterprises.When studying the intermediary mechanism,it is found that the overseas background executives through influencing their R&D investment can further affect the innovation performance of enterprises.Therefore,enterprises should pay attention to the management of returnees,especially those with overseas working background.In addition,senior executives with overseas background should be given more autonomy,so that they can freely carry out R&D and innovation,and further improve the internationalization performance of enterprises through the improvement of technological innovation ability.
