| Credit capital is one of the capital elements that drive agricultural production and investment, and it is also an important driving force to optimize the allocation of agricultural resources and promote industrial agglomeration. For a long time,China’s rural areas have been facing serious financial exclusion and credit constraints, which have distorted the market mechanism and resource allocation efficiency of rural credit and hindered the progress of agricultural development, rural construction and farmers’ income improvement. Therefore, farmers’ credit has always been an important issue concerning the construction of rural financial system and the promotion of economic and social development in China.X county is a major agricultural county subordinate to Chengdu. In recent years, focusing on modern industries such as citrus, olive, edible fungi, cattle and sheep breeding,it has actively promoted the construction of county cooperatives, agricultural industrial parks and industrial bases, cultivated 18 provincial, municipal and county modern agricultural parks, and added 11 agricultural leading enterprises,652 specialized cooperatives and 721 family farms.X county has been continuously opening up and extending the agricultural industrial chain, seeking more diversified industrial integration modes, and has been rated as the leading area of integrated development of rural primary, secondary and tertiary industries in China. In the process of agricultural industrialization and agglomeration in X county, farmers’ credit availability has become the core element of their participation in industrial transformation and integration into industrial development. Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study the influencing factors of farmers’ credit availability in X county. This study analyzes the influencing factors of farmers’ credit availability from the four dimensions of farmers’ characteristics, family characteristics, loan characteristics and environmental characteristics, and puts forward research hypotheses. Then, based on the questionnaire survey data of farmers in X county, the relationship between variables is tested by using the questionnaire survey method and the ordered multi classification logistic model, and the impact direction and degree of farmers’ characteristics, family characteristics, loan characteristics and environmental characteristics on Farmers’ credit availability in X county are judged. Finally, this study puts forward targeted suggestions from four aspects: education system, financial environment construction, industrial agglomeration layout, and credit guarantee mechanism innovation. The main conclusions of this study are as follows: first, statistical analysis finds that farmers in X county have a strong demand for credit, but the proportion of applying for loans through formal financial institutions is not high, and many farmers will still use informal financial channels to obtain funds.Among the farmers who apply for credit from formal financial institutions, less than half of them can obtain full or partial credit from formal financial institutions. There is still room for improvement in the credit support provided by formal financial institutions in X county to farmers in the region.Second, the empirical research finds that: first,in terms of personal characteristics, men are more likely to obtain credit support than women;Age has a negative and significant effect on credit availability; The education level of primary school and below has a significant negative impact on the availability of credit, while the education level of junior high school and above has no significant impact on the availability of credit;Party members and village cadres will positively improve the availability of credit;Farmers with higher risk preference are less likely to obtain loans.Second,in terms of the characteristics of peasant households, the peasant households with abundant labor force, higher annual income level, diversified family income sources, and participation in cooperatives have higher credit availability; There is no real estate and the land area is less than 2 mu,which has a negative impact on the availability of farmers’ credit, but the increase of the number of real estate and the actual operating land area does not completely promote the availability of farmers’ credit.Third,in terms of loan characteristics, farmers’ productive capital needs are more easily met;however, both term and interest rate have a negative impact on Farmers’ credit; The credit line has a significant impact in some cases.Fourth,in terms of environmental characteristics, the use of online tools to apply for loans can significantly promote the availability of farmers’ credit. The number of financial institutions in the region, the strength of financial policies and knowledge publicity, and the number of industrial parks or industrial bases in the town have a significant positive impact on the availability of farmers’ credit. This conclusion can enrich the research results on the construction of farmers’ credit and rural financial system in China, and also provide corresponding ideas for farmers, financial institutions and government supervision in X county, promote the agricultural transformation of X county and improve the economic and social welfare level of X county. |
