| At present, the domestic entrepreneurial boom is surging, and more and more entrepreneurs choose to carry out entrepreneurial activities with their spouses. The phenomenon of "copreneurship" has attracted wide attention in the practice circle. In reality, some copreneurial businesses gradually develop into family businesses dominated by the couples, and even grow into listed businesses with family system.Other copreneurs are opting to stay conservative by running small copreneurial businesses. This may be due to the different entrepreneurial orientation of copreneurial businesses, leading to the gradual difference in the development process of businesses.Existing studies show that the existence or absence of core role identity may cause entrepreneurs with the same social motivation to have completely different impacts on entrepreneurial orientation. However, few studies have explored the relationship between the identity of the business founder and the identity of the family maintainer and the development of the business based on the copreneurial situation. In addition,it has not been revealed whether the attention allocation driven by the copreneurs’ identity centrality influences the direction of entrepreneurship. Therefore, this study provides new insights for the entrepreneurial orientation of copreneurial businesses by exploring the attention allocation process caused by the copreneurs’ identity centrality. This study explores the influence mechanism of identity centrality on entrepreneurship orientation of copreneurial business based on identity theory and attention-based view.At the same time, this study introduces "attention allocation" as the intermediary variable to reveal the internal logical relationship between the copreneurs’ identity centrality, attention allocation and entrepreneurial orientation.Based on the survey of 312 copreneurs and the analysis of the collected data using SPSS26.0 and AMOS24.0 software, this study draws the following conclusions:(1)The copreneurs’ identity centrality will have a differentiated impact on the entrepreneurial orientation.(2)The cognitive difference of the copreneurs’ identity centrality leads to the difference in the distribution of business attention allocation.(3)The attention allocation of copreneurs have a differentiated impact on entrepreneurial orientation.(4)The attention allocation plays a partial mediating role between the copreneurs’ identity centrality and entrepreneurship orientation. The theoretical contributions of this study are as follows: First,as an innovative research to distinguish between the identity of the copreneurial business founder and the identity of family maintainer,it has a significant contribution to the application of identity theory in the context of copreneurship.Second,it explores the relationship between identity centrality and entrepreneurial orientation of copreneurs, and opens the "black box" that identity affects the entrepreneurial behavior of copreneurial business.Third, the variable "attention allocation" is introduced into the research, which enriches the transformational research of copreneurial business from the level of individual cognition to the level of business behavior. The practical contributions of this study are as follows: First,it reveals the differentiated the identity of the business founder and the family maintainer on the entrepreneurial orientation, and provides ideas for more effectively promoting the copreneurial business to break the convention and actively expand the operation;Second,it helps to guide the copreneurs to balance the internal and external attention of the business,so as to promote the business to "seek progress while maintaining stability". |
