At present,China is facing multiple pressures,such as a slowdown in domestic growth,a shift in growth momentum and a sharp decline in external demand.Therefore,in order to cope with the complex and changeable development situation at home and abroad and achieve the sustained and high-quality development of the domestic economy,the Central Committee of the CPC timely made a major strategic decision to "build a new development pattern with the domestic great cycle as the main body and the international and domestic double cycles mutually reinforcing".Once the concept of the new development pattern was put forward,the strategic position of expanding domestic demand and stimulating consumption was given priority to development.Because of its special geographical position,Tibet Autonomous Region plays an extremely important strategic position in the development process of China,and its economic development and social stability are of vital strategic significance.Therefore,how to expand residents’ consumption and promote the upgrading of residents’ consumption has become the main problem facing the economic and social development of Tibet.As an important link between financial services and residents’ consumption,consumer finance has been widely recognized for its importance in expanding residents’ consumption and further improving the financial service system.Based on this,how to make good use of consumer finance as the core financial means to promote the development of consumption of Xizang residents is particularly important.Therefore,it is very important to correctly grasp the influence mechanism of consumer finance on Xizang residents’ consumption.Based on the above background,this paper follows the research idea of "theoretical basis-action mechanism-current situation analysis-empirical test-policy suggestions",scientifically defines the connotation of consumer finance,deeply analyzes the influence mechanism of consumer finance on residents’ consumption,and puts forward the research hypothesis of consumer finance’s influence on residents’ consumption in Tibet based on the analysis of relevant theories and mechanisms.Through the empirical analysis of the panel regression model built by using the2010-2020 consumer finance and consumer consumption-related macroeconomic data in Tibet,the research conclusion is drawn that the development of consumer finance can promote the improvement of the consumption level and the optimization of the consumption structure of urban and rural residents in Tibet to a certain extent.However,all kinds of consumer finance activities have different influence directions and degrees on the consumption of urban and rural residents in Tibet.Specifically,on the one hand,consumer credit and financial savings play a significant role in promoting the improvement of the consumption level of urban and rural residents in Tibet.Insurance and financial investment also have a positive impact on the improvement of the consumption level of urban and rural residents in Tibet,but the effect is not significant.On the other hand,consumer credit has a significant positive impact on the optimization of the consumption structure of urban residents in Tibet,while it has a significant negative impact on the optimization of the consumption structure of rural residents.Insurance and financial investment have a positive impact on the optimization of the consumption structure of urban and rural residents in Tibet,but the effect is not significant.Based on this,in order to develop consumer finance in Tibet and promote the upgrading of residents’ consumption,this paper puts forward policy suggestions from the macro,meso and micro levels respectively with the government,financial institutions and residents as the implementation subjects: at the macro level,residents’ consumption guarantee system should be improved;at the meso level,a sound consumer financial market system should be constructed;and at the micro level,a correct concept system of consumer finance should be established.
