Commercial banks are at the core of China’s financial economy,benefiting from the rapid development of the country’s economy,Commercial banks have also achieved rapid economic development,especially the rapid expansion of asset size.Banks were originally enterprises with operational risks,but with the increasing expansion of their business,the operational risks faced by enterprises will become increasingly prominent.Therefore,exploring the operational risk management of commercial banks from the perspective of internal control is of great significance for the long-term stable development of commercial banks.China Postal Savings Bank(hereinafter referred to as Postal Savings Bank)was established in 2007,with nearly 40000 bank branches and 170000 employees.It is the state-owned commercial bank with the largest number of branches in China.Postal Savings Bank was born in China Post.Since its establishment,Postal Savings Bank has focused on business operation and development.Compared with other state-owned banks,risk prevention and control lags behind,and there is also a big gap with regulatory requirements.The effect of internal control system and operational risk management is extremely disproportionate to its own development scale.In recent years,there have been frequent outbreaks of major cases,and regulatory fines have also continued.Therefore,the research on how to strengthen internal control and strengthen operational risk management of Postal Savings Bank is imminent.Based on the research object of SJZ branch behavior of Postal Savings Bank and the relevant theories of internal control and operational risk,this paper analyzes the status quo and problems of SJZ Branch’s internal control and operational risk management by describing five elements,including internal control environment,risk identification and assessment,system implementation,information and communication,progress and feedback,and finds that there are weak compliance awareness,single assessment means,and lax implementation of internal control system in SJZ Branch’s risk management The lack of timeliness of information communication,inadequate internal audit management and other issues,in view of these problems,this paper takes the operational risk management and control system of SJZ Branch as a case study,combined with its past or ongoing traceable operational risk as a typical case,to explore the best method to strengthen SJZ Branch’s management of operational risk Suggestions on optimization of information system application and other aspects,and on this basis,the improvement measures and strategies for operational risk management of SJZ Branch are proposed,thus providing some reference for other state-owned commercial banks,jointstock commercial banks and urban commercial banks to do a good job in operational risk management.
