As a pillar of national economic development and an important force in agricultural modernization,the development level of agricultural and sideline food processing industry can not only accelerate the integration of the three industries in China’s rural areas and the process of agricultural modernization,but also is an important basis for the smooth operation of the economy.Its development status and sustainability are particularly important.For a long time,China’s agricultural and sideline food processing industry has many problems,such as low technical content,product homogeneity,low food quality,low profit,and huge competitive pressure.At this stage,with the rapid development of the economy,people’s living standards continue to improve,and the level of residents’ demand for food is rising,which puts forward high requirements for the type and quality of food,which requires the agricultural and sideline food processing industry to achieve high-quality development.At the same time,the country has vigorously issued policies to promote the development of agricultural and sideline food processing industry and agricultural development,and the industry has entered a stage of continuous rise and expansion,making the industry increasingly competitive.In the face of changing market environment,how to realize sustainable development of enterprises is a question worth thinking and studying for each agricultural and sideline food processing enterprise.The decisive factor affecting the sustainable development of enterprises in the future is the links of the value chain.Only by effectively managing the value chain can enterprises obtain competitive advantages and achieve sustainable development.Therefore,this paper will conduct in-depth research on the sustainable development of enterprises from the perspective of the value chain.This thesis selects the representative enterprise of agricultural and sideline food processing-S enterprise as the research object,takes the industry status and the sustainable development status of S enterprise as the research background,uses literature research,case analysis and comparative analysis,and combines the value chain perspective to analyze the sustainable development of S enterprise.First of all,we use traditional financial indicators to conduct a preliminary analysis of the sustainable development of S enterprise,it was found that its sustainable development ability has a downward trend.Secondly,from the perspective of the value chain,an in-depth analysis was conducted on the research and development,procurement,production,sales,human resources,and competitors in six aspects.It was found that S company did not invest enough in the research and development process,resulting in lagging behind peers in the same industry;The concentration ratio of suppliers in the procurement phase is not high;There are problems in ensuring the quality of some products in the production process;In the sales process,there is an imbalance in the development of sales regions,and there is a larger market to explore;There is a frequent turnover of senior management talents in the human resources sector,and a relatively low market share in competitors.Finally,based on the perspective of the value chain,propose improvement suggestions for the problems in various value chain links of S enterprise.For example,increasing research and development investment,diversifying procurement models,strictly controlling product quality,expanding sales channels,identifying competitive advantages,and establishing a corporate brand image.Through this case study,we aim to provide reference for the sustainable development of ourselves and other enterprises in the same industry.
