Voice Behaviour is a kind of organizational citizenship behavior, which is an employee’s initiative to make suggestions or ideas for the development of the company in order to make the company’s current situation better or avoid the company’s development in an unfavorable direction. The relationship between personality traits and voice behavior, and the relationship between other influences on these two variables, has received much academic attention. In this paper, personality traits are measured using the five personality factors(extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness). The paper also examines the influence of personality traits on employee voice behavior, the role of employee emotions in the relationship between personality traits and employee voice behavior, and the role of the organizational environment in the intermediary model. This paper develops theoretical models and research hypotheses based on relevant knowledge. It also uses the questionnaire survey method, literature combing method, and empirical analysis method to test the main effect, mediating effect, and moderating effect. In this study,a total of 304 valid questionnaires was collected, and the results were analyzed using data analysis software such as SPSS and Stata. It was found that the personality traits of agreeableness, extraversion, dutifulness, and openness had a significant positive effect on voice behavior;neuroticism had a significant negative effect on facilitating and inhibiting voice behavior;positive emotions mediated between agreeableness, dutifulness, openness, and extraversion on facilitating and inhibiting voice behavior;and negative emotions played a masking effect between neuroticism and facilitating and inhibiting voice behavior. The mediated model with moderation does hold for the facilitative voice dimensions of voice behavior for agreeableness, dutifulness, and extraversion, but not for openness and neuroticism.Based on the above findings, and to further support management practices, this study proposes that managers should pay attention to employees’ emotions, create a positive organizational climate, and reasonably guide the emotions of employees with different personality traits to improve their voice behavior and contribute to organizational development.
