China’s 18 th National Congress of the CPC has seen remarkable advancement in unifying urban and rural growth,as well as stimulating new urbanization-a feat that is essential for the Chinese socialist system to guarantee shared prosperity. However, there are still prominent problems such as uneven and unbalanced urban and rural development, poor flow of urban and rural factors, and unreasonable allocation of public resources. The Party Congress proposed that "achieving common prosperity for all people is the essential requirement of Chinese-style modernization".The urgent need for a transformation of urban-rural ties, the dissolution of institutional impediments to the amalgamation of urban and rural regions, and the fostering of shared prosperity is paramount.Urban agglomerations and central cities are essential spatial forms that effectively collect both economy and population, convey development elements, and are significant conduits of urban and rural combined growth.Shanxi Province’s central city cluster serves as a crucial strategic deployment to integrate into Xiongan New Area and the joint growth of Beijing,Tianjin, and Hebei. In Shanxi Province,a pilot area for urban-rural integration has been established. This paper will explore the urban-rural integration and spatial distinction of the central Shanxi City cluster,as well as the primary elements that influence it.Providing countermeasures to foster the integration of the Shanxi city cluster in centrality and augment urban-rural integration should be done. This paper concentrates on the examination of the urban agglomeration of central Shanxi’s transformation and growth from six economic stages, with 2010,2015 and2020 as the benchmark years.Theories pertinent to urban-rural integrated development, the ecological environment, population structure, income consumption structure, public service, and transportation infrastructure of the study area were all classified. An exhaustive index of urban assessment. The urban-rural integration development level is gauged through the utilization of an improved entropy method(IEM)and a thorough evaluation technique. The natural breakpoint method was employed to ascertain the degree of urban-rural amalgamation in the central Shanxi urban agglomeration, and the spatial distinction was revealed by the measurement results. The optimal parameter geographic detector is employed to discern the primary elements impacting urban and rural amalgamation from the perspective of city size.Research has revealed that transportation location, information development, and population structure are the primary factors in urban and rural integration. Moreover,An inspection of the spatial disparities between the essential components impacting urban-rural amalgamation in counties unveils that industrial expansion and governmental macro tactics are the chief determinants of the degree.Integrating counties between urban and rural areas, this proposal further advances the concept.
