With the deepening of division of labor and cooperation among countries and regions in the world, economic activities have gradually crossed national boundaries.Promoting trade liberalization, improving economic benefits and national competitiveness have become the direction of efforts of all countries in the international market.Despite the close economic connection among countries in the world, global economic integration has not yet taken shape, and the multilateral trade negotiation process is difficult. However,it also provides opportunities and conditions for the development of bilateral trade and regional network trade.Countries that have formed regional economic integration have similar geographical locations, historical and cultural origins, production capacity and economic development capacity,so economic cooperation is much easier than global integration. The establishment and development of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area(CAFTA)not only conforms to the trend of The Times, but also provides more opportunities for the development of China’s export trade with Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN).Based on the background of the rapid development of trade relations between China and ASEAN,this paper analyzes the current situation of China’s export to ASEAN from three aspects: the total volume of China’s export trade to ASEAN,export market and export structure. The results show that the export volume presents an upward trend, and the export market shifts from developed countries to emerging countries.Vietnam ranks the first place, and the export products are mainly capitalintensive products. It will account for about 52% of China’s total exports to ASEAN in2021.At the same time, the panel data of China and ASEAN member states from 2010 to 2019 are selected, and four important factors affecting trade facilitation are taken as the first-level indicators, including institutional environment, logistics and infrastructure, customs and border management, and e-commerce.A total of 18 second-level indicators are added under the first-level indicators, and finally constitute the index system of this paper. For the sake of data availability, the facilitation index of 7 selected member countries is measured by entropy method, and empirical analysis is conducted based on the gravity model. In the empirical process, five regression models are established, which not only analyzes the influence of trade facilitation and different aspects of trade facilitation on China’s export to ASEAN,but also analyzes in which aspects trade facilitation affects trade from a more detailed perspective. In this paper,we replace export volume with primary products,labor-intensive products and capital intensive products to analyze the influence of trade facilitation on our export structure. The results show that, firstly, trade facilitation has a significant effect on the export volume of China to ASEAN,with customs and border management and e-commerce having the most obvious impact;Secondly, the promotion of trade facilitation can improve the structure of our export products. The empirical results show that the promotion effect of trade facilitation on capital-intensive products is far greater than that on labor-intensive products and primary products. Therefore, this paper believes that the improvement of China’s export trade should be promoted by strengthening communication and consultation to reduce the burden of customs procedures and costs, promote the construction of China-Asean information port, adhere to technical exchanges, strengthen port construction and improve the compliance of enterprises and other aspects. |
