Research On The Impact Of Digital Inclusive Finance On The High Quality Development Of County Economy In Hunan Province

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China report emphasizes that high-quality development is the core task of building a modern socialist country.With the booming development of the digital economy,digital inclusive finance has gradually become one of the key driving forces for high-quality economic development in China.This paper aims to explore the role of digital inclusive finance in the high-quality development of county-level economies in Hunan Province under the context of the digital economy.This paper divides Hunan Province into four economic sectors based on its development strategy and employs the digital inclusive finance index from Peking University to analyze the current status of digital inclusive finance development in each sector and their temporal changes from 2016 to 2020.Meanwhile,according to the connotation of high-quality development,a county-level economic high-quality development index system is established for Hunan Province,and the entropy weightTOPSIS method is applied to the data of 86 counties(cities)from 2016 to 2020 to investigate the current status of high-quality economic development in the region.Following that,the digital inclusive finance index from Peking University is used to empirically analyze the impact of digital inclusive finance on high-quality economic development in Hunan Province.Moreover,this paper examines the regional heterogeneity of digital inclusive finance’s role in different counties in Hunan Province and analyzes the threshold effect of digital inclusive finance on high-quality economic development based on the threshold effect model.Finally,the robustness test is conducted to verify the stability and reliability of the empirical findings.The research results show that:(1)digital inclusive finance and high-quality economic development in Hunan Province’s counties present an overall positive trend,but there are significant differences among counties;(2)there is great potential for high-quality economic development in Hunan Province’s counties,but growth rates vary;(3)digital inclusive finance has a positive promotion effect on high-quality economic development at the county level;(4)there is regional heterogeneity in the promotion of high-quality economic development by digital inclusive finance;(5)a single threshold effect exists in the promotion of high-quality economic development by digital inclusive finance.Finally,this paper puts forward some targeted policy recommendations to promote the integrated development of high-quality economic development and digital inclusive finance in Hunan Province’s counties,providing theoretical support and practical reference for the role of digital inclusive finance in fostering high-quality economic development in the region.
