Research On The Impact Of China’s High-Tech Products Imports On The Upgrading Of Regional Industrial Structure

In recent years,as high-tech industries continue to evolve,,those industries have been reckoned as a new driving force as well as engine of economic development and growth on a global scale.The development of product trade using high-tech promotes the global resource convergence for China,and simultaneously furthers China’s competitiveness in high-tech fields.At present,the developed countries,represented by Europe and the United States,attempt to curtail high-tech industries in China.Consequently,to promote the upgrading of China’s industrial structure by expanding trade in high-tech products,strengthening technical cooperation with other countries,is an important strategy of opening to the outside world.Under this background,based on the dynamic panel modal to conduct the regression on the panel data of 30 provinces and regions in China from 2006 to 2018,this paper constructs a model of the relationship between the import of high-tech products and the adjustment of industrial structure.Secondly,makes an empirical study by using the intermediary effect model to identify the transmission path of high-tech products import on industrial structure upgrading.Finally conducts an empirical quantitative study of the human capital and self-innovation intermediary effect of the impact of high-tech imports on industrial structure upgrading.The analysis results are as follows:(1)High-tech products import significantly promotes the upgrading of regional industrial structure;(2)The influence of high-tech products import on the upgrading of industrial structure is heterogeneous in different regions.From the regional level,China’s high-tech products import has a significant promoting effect on the upgrading of regional Industrial in the eastern and western regions,but not in the cental region;(3)In terms of the impact path of high-tech product import on the optimization of China’s industrial structure,it can mainly take effect through the two channels,one is improving regional human capital and another one is improving regional scientific and technological innovation ability.Finally,according to the research results of this paper,it puts forward some policy suggestions.we should expand the scale of high-tech products import and improve the quality of trade.Furthermore,giving full play to the role of human capital,promoting self-innovation,paying attention to the healthy and sustainable development of regional industrial structure.
