In order to meet the needs of China’s economic development and to implement the"going out" strategy of Chinese enterprises and the,"One Belt,One Road" initiative,Chinese commercial banks need to actively provide good financial support services for enterprises in the process of internationalization to ensure their own healthy and sustainable development. At the same time, against the backdrop of slowing economic growth, narrowing spreads for commercial banks and increasingly stringent financial regulation in the world,Chinese commercial banks are facing serious challenges in their overseas development posture. As opportunities and challenges coexist, overseas institutions of Chinese commercial banks must not only increase their internal control work and make good use of a series of preferential policies for the country’s external development to develop and grow rapidly, but also study and overcome the complex political, commercial and cultural external environment overseas to safeguard the safety and appreciation of state-owned assets.B Commercial Bank,as a large state-owned financial institution, was the first to establish a Chinese-funded overseas branch in the Middle East country of the United Arab Emirates in 2008,which opened for business to the public and made a profit in the same year.During the development process of more than ten years, the credit business of B Commercial Bank,UAE branch mainly experienced rapid development, concentrated risk outbreak and slow recovery, which fully exposed some shortcomings in the credit risk management of the branch. In order to improve the branch’s credit risk management capabilities and actively adapt to the current global economic development and internationalization,it is necessary to conduct an in-depth analysis of the main problems, uncover the root causes and provide targeted optimization. In this paper,B Commercial Bank,UAE branch is used as a classical case study, and the author relies on theories related to credit risk management by summarizing the current situation of credit risk management in the branch, analyzing the problems of risk management relating before, during and after the credit default, analyzing the internal and external causes of credit risks, integrating the existing resources of the branch and drawing on the branch’s historical experience, the bank proposed operational measures to improve its credit risk management system, examine the risks of the business environment in the Middle East and establish an internationally competitive human resources system,in order to enhance the overall credit risk management of B Commercial Bank,UAE Branch and ensure its long-term stable and high-quality development in the Middle East. |
