In recent years,with the booming development of the Internet and big data,the scale of China’s digital economy has been expanding and new economic models have emerged.The competitiveness of traditional supermarket chains is gradually decreasing and profit growth is sluggish,so the transformation to new retail has become a major trend.Under the new retail model,the accounting methods of supermarket chains are different from the traditional model,and the audit elements and audit risks have also changed significantly.Due to the diversity of business channels,the influence factors of audit risk increase and the potential audit risk points also increase,therefore,it is important to study the audit risk of supermarket chains under the new retail model.Currently,the audit risk of new retail enterprises has attracted academic attention,but the research is relatively weak,especially in practice,the audit industry does not have a set of audit systems and audit methods for the new retail model,the audit technology is relatively backward compared to the development of the new retail industry,and the research on the audit risk of the new retail model is relatively thin.The purpose of this paper is to study the audit risk of supermarket chains in the new retail model through literature analysis and case study method,and propose targeted countermeasures.The main research content of this paper includes the following aspects: First,based on the literature review,this paper conducts theoretical analysis based on modern risk-oriented audit theory,information asymmetry theory and the theory of the wheel of new retailing.Secondly,the paper provides an in-depth analysis of the current situation of auditing of supermarket chains under the new retail model in China.The study finds that the current supermarket chain industry is under increased competitive pressure and in urgent need of transformation,and the model change brought by the transformation has caused a greater impact on audit risk.Once again,the article takes Yonghui Supermarket as an example to conduct an in-depth study on the audit risk under the new retail model,and concludes that the transformation of the new retail model in the industry may bring certain dividends to enterprises,but at the same time,it will also cause greater operational and audit risks;after the transformation of the retail industry,the digital business model,more complex related transactions and accounting methods not only bring greater internal The digitalized business model,more complex related transactions,and accounting practices not only create greater internal control difficulties for the companies themselves,but also create greater audit pressure for auditors,increasing the risk of material misstatement and inspection risk.Finally,this paper proposes the following measures to reasonably address the audit risks of supermarket chains under the new retail model: first,accounting firms should carefully select audit clients and,before the audit work begins,determine the focus of risk assessment according to the characteristics of the new retail model and enhance the analysis of the external environment of the enterprise;second,during the audit work process,they should continuously pay attention to the status of the audited entity and focus on important statements such as revenue,inventory,and related transactions,Finally,the firm should continuously optimize audit techniques and audit methods,and strengthen the training of complex audit talents.The new retail model brings more uncontrollable factors to the audit risk of supermarket chains,resulting in a certain degree of increase in audit risk.It is hoped that the research in this paper can help CPAs to clarify the key elements in the audit process and contribute to the improvement of the audit effectiveness of new retail chain supermarkets.
