| Along with the rapid advancement of industrialization and urbanization,the pollution of ecological environment has become more and more serious while the social and economic development is growing day by day.Among the many factors that cause environmental pollution,the daily production and operation activities of enterprises are one of the most important factors.Therefore,it is very important for enterprises to take the responsibility of protecting the environment not only as a member of the society,but also as a stakeholder of consumers,media and government,etc.Therefore,it is very important for enterprises to make better environmental protection in the process of their normal production and operation,and to weigh the relationship between environmental protection and their own development.Green technology innovation is one of the effective means to help companies achieve this goal.By making technological innovations that are conducive to environmental protection,enterprises can ensure the efficiency of their daily production and operation while helping to protect the environment and reduce environmental pollution.It is because of this function that green technology innovation has become a focus of research in recent years.The heterogeneity of the executive team’s education level gives the executive team a richer perspective and more diverse information,and members with different levels of education have different values and different cognitive bases,which undoubtedly affect the decision making.Current scholars have focused on the impact of educational heterogeneity of executive teams on the financial performance and innovation performance of enterprises,but there is a lack of research on the impact of educational heterogeneity of executive teams on corporate green technology innovation.This paper analyzes the relationship between the heterogeneity of executive team education level and corporate green technology innovation from three perspectives.First,the paper investigates the direct influence of heterogeneity in the education level of executive teams on corporate green technology innovation.The different perspectives among members with different levels of executive team education complement and cooperate with each other to promote the level of corporate decision making in green technology innovation.Second,the article explores the mediating role played by CSR in the relationship between the two.The mechanism of interaction between the two is investigated in more depth.The complementary perspectives and cooperation brought by the differences in the education level of the executive team promote the formation of better relationships between enterprises and stakeholders by facilitating the fulfillment of corporate social responsibility,which in turn leads to more resources conducive to corporate green technology innovation and promotes the level of corporate green technology innovation.Finally,this paper explores the moderating effect of financing constraints on the relationship between the two.In terms of the lineage:firstly,the article collates the existing relevant theoretical foundations,concepts and literature.A preliminary analysis of the relationship between the heterogeneity of the education level of executive teams and the green technology innovation of firms is conducted.On the basis of studying and understanding the existing research results,it draws on the experience of previous research,analyzes the shortcomings of existing research,and puts forward its own ideas.Secondly,the article collects and organizes the relevant data of listed companies in recent years,and verifies the proposed hypotheses with data through regression analysis and other means.Again,the article conducts robustness tests for the results by means of lagged variables,replacement variables,etc.The hypotheses are further verified.Finally,the findings of the paper are summarized and feasible suggestions are made for corporate executive team building and green technology innovation based on the findings.The contributions of the article are:firstly,it verifies the influence of the internal factor of heterogeneity in the education level of the executive team on the level of green technology innovation.This article enriches the research on the factors influencing green technology innovation from an intra-firm perspective.It further enriches the cross-sectional study of executive team heterogeneity and corporate green technology innovation.Secondly,we investigate the role of the heterogeneity of executive team education level in facilitating the fulfillment of corporate social responsibility,which in turn facilitates green technology innovation,and confirm the mediating role of corporate social responsibility in the influence of executive team education level heterogeneity on corporate green technology innovation.Finally,the study confirms the negative moderating effect of financing constraints on the impact of executive team education level heterogeneity on corporate green technology innovation. |
