Small farmers in large countries are the basic national conditions and agricultural conditions in China.With the development of agricultural and rural modernization,small farmers in urban suburbs no longer have a single source of income from the market.As an important part of the organic connection between small farmers and large markets,the sales mode of agricultural products has an important impact on their income growth.However,with the rapid development of new sales methods,can traditional sales methods effectively connect with the large markets? As a special and easily neglected agricultural business entities,suburban small farmers only obtain income by selling agricultural products? Are their sales choices reasonable? What factors affect the choice of sales methods of agricultural products? The analysis of the above problems are not only of great significance to solve various difficulties in the sales of agricultural products of small farmers in suburban areas,it can also provide basis and policy suggestions for promoting the optimization and innovation of the sales mode of agricultural products in suburban villages and towns of Hohhot and other regions.Based on above background,taking small farmers in Xiaoheihe Town of Hohhot City as the research object,theoretically analyses and empirically explores factors affecting the choice of agricultural product sales mode of small farmers in suburban areas by making good use of theories and methods of microeconomics,agricultural economics,econometrics,etc.Research findings,first,the sales methods of agricultural products of small farmers in suburban areas are diversified.Representative sales methods include:self-selling method,method of middlemen’ purchase,method of cooperative sale and method of e-commerce sale.Second,the agricultural products of small farmers in suburban areas are mainly sold in traditional ways,while the utilization rate of new ways is low.Most of them adopt the traditional methods of self-selling,middlemen’ purchase and cooperative sale,and seldom use the new way of selling such as e-commerce.Third,small farmers in suburban,market and government jointly influence the choice of sales mode of their agricultural products.Small farmers in suburban areas lack of competitiveness in agricultural sales,narrow access to market information channels,and shortcomings in agricultural sales infrastructure construction all have an impact on their choice of mode of agricultural sales.Fourthly,there are differences in the influencing factors of small farmers’ choice of the mode of agricultural sales mode.As for the mode of "self-selling" agricultural products,the types of crops,the proportion of agricultural operating income and the sales cost of agricultural products have a significant positive impact on the choice of small farmers;and the number of family population,whether small farmers join cooperatives,the number of farmers participating in training and the use of network have a negative impact on the choice of small farmers.As for the mode of "middlemen purchasing" agricultural products,the age of small farmers,whether family members go out to work,planting scale and the use of family network have a positive effect on their choice;and the sales cost of agricultural products has a negative effect on their choice.As for the mode of "cooperative sales",there is a positive effect on the selection of whether small farmers have village cadres in their families,whether they join cooperatives,planting scale,total family income and the proportion of agricultural operation income;and the proportion of wage income of small farmers has a negative effect on their selection.According to the research conclusion,this thesis puts forward the following suggestions to optimize the sales mode of agricultural products of small farmers in the suburbs of the city: Small farmers need to improve their personal cultural literacy and participate in agricultural product sales training actively.Relevant government departments need to cultivate new sales methods and coordinate the development of multiple channels according to local conditions.Deepen the construction of agricultural product sales infrastructure,and broaden the access of small farmers to agricultural product sales information.Standardize the trading process of agricultural products,pay attention to the quality and safety of agricultural products,and improve the quality and efficiency of agricultural product sales.At the same time,strengthen the guidance and training of small farmers in suburban to improve their market competitiveness.
