In 2020.China lifted out of poverty in an all round way,and the problem of absolute poverty be solved. However, nearly 3 million marginal people are at risk of poverty. Therefore, how to continuously consolidate and expand the achievements of poverty alleviation and hold the bottom line of large-scale return to poverty has become the top priority of China’s transition from poverty alleviation to rural revitalization.Among them, farmers’ consumption is an important observation index to comprehensively promote rural revitalization. As an important driving factor to maintain the endogenous growth of rural economy, farmers’ consumption level has increasingly become the focus of academic attention. The problem of insufficient consumption demand seriously puzzles the healthy development of China’s rural economy. How to take effective measures to expand farmers’ consumption has always been a topic of concern to the government and the people. As an important indicator of farmers’ well-being,farmers’ consumption level is of great significance to grasp the "two overall situations".Therefore, this thesis studies the problem of farmers’ consumption. Many Chinese scholars have discussed the ways to stimulate consumption potential from the perspective of micro individual characteristics and macro environment, and expounded the important position of micro characteristics such as liquidity constraints and uncertain risks,as well as the influence of consumption factors of macro government formal systems such as medical security system,"new rural insurance" pension system and targeted poverty alleviation policy. However, the existing literature rarely explores the impact of informal systems such as cultural customs and kinship on consumption level. As the largest developing country in the world,China’s imperfect system and incomplete market may make it difficult to improve farmers’ consumption and promote economic prosperity by relying only on the formal government system,This thesis introduces the sociological concept of "social capital" as a typical representative of informal system. For the purpose of promoting farmers’ consumption level. This thesis focuses on the impact effect and impact path of social capital on farmers’ consumption.Specifically,by reviewing the relevant theories uses the panel data fixed effect model for empirical test.Through theoretical analysis and empirical test, the main research contents and conclusions of this thesis are as follows: it expands the research on Farmers’ consumption, draws lessons from and combs the expanded consumption theory, and introduces the definition and characteristics of consumption in detail. This thesis constructs the theoretical framework of the impact of social capital on Farmers’ consumption, and empirically tests the impact effect and path of social capital on Farmers’ consumption through mathematical model.Social capital has a significant positive boosting effect on Farmers’ productive consumption and living consumption; It has effectively promoted the improvement of household consumption rate;It has a positive effect on classified living consumption expenditure.Financial lending and income inequality in rural areas are important ways to affect farmers’ enthusiasm for productive consumption and living consumption.Under the collaborative background of targeted poverty alleviation and Rural Revitalization Strategy,we should promote the standardized development of rural governmental organizations, strengthen rural information construction, improve the diversified income of farmers, improve the overall social capital level of farmers, and then expand domestic demand,so as to comprehensively promote the transformation and upgrading of consumption in rural areas.
