| The Yangtze River Delta region is now the largest region in China in terms of economic development, and has long since been elevated to a national strategic position. With the acceleration of globalisation, the international political and economic landscape is changing unpredictably. If we want to improve our international competitiveness, the development of the Yangtze River Delta city cluster is an important step for our country. The Yangtze River Delta region is one of the leading cities in China in terms of talent, transportation and economy, and has a great potential for development, which is of great significance to the development of other city clusters in China and the improvement of international competitiveness. Now the international situation is complicated and the domestic economy is facing greater development pressure,in the face of new development opportunities and difficulties, the development choice of the Yangtze River Delta city cluster is particularly important. In this paper, after reviewing the development status of the Yangtze River Delta city cluster and relevant literature, the integration of the Yangtze River Delta city cluster is studied and analysed.Firstly, according to the research on the integration index system of urban agglomerations at home and abroad,as well as combining the different development situations of each province and city in the Yangtze River Delta,38 indicators from 2010 to 2019 were finally selected, and a total of five dimensions of economy, market, transportation, ecological environment and public services were analyzed for comprehensive integration evaluation, and the development status was objectively evaluated and ranked using the entropy weight TOPSIS model.A time-series analysis was then carried out based on the comprehensive evaluation scores to derive the development of the Yangtze River Delta in the last ten years;finally,a spatial distribution of cities was carried out to obtain the distribution of cities in various aspects.Furthermore,in order to objectively reflect the spatial distribution of the cities in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration,a cluster analysis of panel data is chosen, and the Ward method of the systematic clustering method is used.distribution of each city in each field to better understand the current situation. The following conclusions were obtained from this paper. The results obtained are as follows:(1)The Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration is in a good state of integrated development, with good development in the distribution of economy, ecology and public services, but markets and transportation at first went through a period of silent decline before bottoming out and developing at a higher growth rate.(2)The Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration in general shows a "strong east and weak west" situation. From the pattern of the three provinces and one city,it roughly shows the distribution that Shanghai is larger than Jiangsu Province and larger than Zhejiang Province and larger than Anhui Province.(3)Combined with the ranking of each city and the results of cluster analysis, the analysis shows that Shanghai is in the leading position in all aspects of data,Nanjing,Suzhou and Hangzhou are basically in the second echelon,Wuxi,Hefei,Ningbo,Nantong and Changzhou are in one echelon, and the other cities show that the cities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang are better developed than those in Anhui.(4)The better developed cities in terms of economy and market, the lower their ecological rating.Cities that were originally at a higher level of development in many aspects, such as Shanghai,Suzhou and Hangzhou, can only be at the bottom of the ranking. Finally, based on the conclusions on the integration of the Yangtze River Delta city cluster, the following suggestions are made in conjunction with relevant policies:vigorously develop the economic level of the cities, rely on and develop infrastructure such as transportation and communication, actively develop markets and establish a resource sharing platform;co-ordinate resources such as public services in the region and establish a complete ecological and environmental protection mechanism. |
