| The development of knowledge is continuous, fluid and multi-disciplinary.The changes of the research topics studied by scientists reflect the continuous changes of information collection and knowledge transfer. At the same time, scientific knowledge has developed rapidly in recent years.New problems and new knowledge have emerged, and as scientific literature carrying scientific knowledge,it contains a large amount of information on the wisdom of scientists and the attributes related to individual research, which is important for revealing and deeply exploring. It is important to reveal and deeply explore the content of the topics studied by scientists in their research fields.Exploring the career development of scientists and the transfers mode of their research topics can not only reveal the inner mechanism of scientific productivity development, but also help to provide better policy guidance and support for the development of scientific career. The rapid mining of implied topics from the vast scientific literature and the exploration of scientists’ research topics and their changing patterns can also serve as an important element for insight into whether scientists can produce high-level results. The research and methods for identifying and topic transfer characteristics of researchers have achieved corresponding results, but little research has been done on whether topic transfer changes during the career of scientists are accompanied by different degrees of productivity and production levels. In view of this, this study attempts to start from the transfer changes of research topics of scientists, select corresponding disciplines from three different fields of natural sciences, social sciences and arts and humanities: mycology, library intelligence and philosophy, and adopt the natural language processing(NLP)method based on Topic2 Vec.The abstracts of the papers produced by the scientists were used as the object of topic study for topic modeling, and the absolute citation frequency of the papers was used as the basis for identifying the career peaks of the scientists, and the different stages before and after the career peaks of the scientists were used as the basis for specific analysis of the transfer of the research topics of the overall team of scientists and outstanding scholars. The study aims to gain a deeper understanding of how scientists’ research topic transfer before and after their high-impact outputs. The results show that most scientists reach their career peaks early in their academic careers, and in general, scientists are relatively specialized in their research topics early in their careers, and transfer topics more frequently after their career peaks. On the other hand, outstanding scholars who excel in their disciplines inherit their previous research topics to a greater extent after their career peaks, and outstanding scholars become more specialized after their career peaks. |
