Research On The Influence Of Executive Green Perception And Green Technology Innovation Capability On Its Firm Performance

Along with rapid economic growth,environmental pollution were brought about by have become increasingly prominent in China.Among them,the production activities of enterprises in heavily polluting industries are particularly notable for the heavy environmental costs,while rapidly accumulating economic benefits for the market.President Xi Jinping has repeatedly proposed the ecological governance and green development concept of "preferring green water and green mountains to golden mountains".The green development of heavy polluted enterprises is obviously important and imminent in China.we take heavy pollution industry enterprises as the research object,integrate green technology innovation into enterprise production activities,construct the "executive perception-capability-performance" path to improve the economic performance and environmental performance of heavy pollution industry enterprises,and embed the regulatory role of environmental regulation from the macroscopic view,to help heavy polluted industry enterprises to be the green development.we select the listed heavy polluted industry enterprises in A-shares in Shenzhen and Shanghai from 2010 to 2017 as the research sample,and modify the nonlinear mediating effect test model with moderated mediating effect test model by applying Hayes & Preacher’s research test method.We have concluded that,the effect of executives’ green perception on firms’ economic performance and environmental performance,and the different mediating role of green technology innovation capability in them is analyzed,and the boundaries of the whole research path under environmental regulation are explored.The empirical results show that: executive green perception positively contributes to both firm economic performance and environmental performance;executive green perception positively contributes to green technology innovation capability;there is a U-shape relationship between green technology innovation capability and firm economic performance;green technology innovation capability positively contribute to firm environmental performance;the innovation capability of green technology plays a U-shape mediating role between executive green perception and economic performance;green technology innovation capability plays a linear mediating role between executive green perception and environmental performance;environmental regulation positively regulates the relationship between executive green perception and green technology innovation capability;environmental regulation positively regulates the U-shaped mediating role of green technology innovation capability between executive green perception and economic performance;environmental regulation positively regulates the linear mediating role of green technology innovation capability between executive green perception and environmental performance.The findings in this paper has given an in-depth investigation of the mechanism of executive green perception on corporate performance through green technology innovation capability,and enrich the research on the influence of executive traits on green development at the corporate level.At the same time,it provides certain decision reference for the government to macro-regulate the green development of enterprises in the heavy pollution industry and formulate institutional policies to improve the economic and environmental performance of enterprises in the heavy pollution industry,and has certain implications for how enterprises in the heavy pollution industry can formulate green development strategies in the face of external pressure from environmental regulations.
