Agriculture is the backbone of the Indian economy and a prerequisite for the highquality development of India’s economy and society. In recent years, the gross value of agricultural production has contributed 17% of India’s total GDP and provided 70% of jobs.Although India’s food production has increased over the past few decades from 51 million tonnes in 1950 to 300 million tonnes in 2019,agricultural productivity is still low compared to developed countries. As the most important agricultural product in India, how to improve the quality and technical efficiency of rice through technological progress has always been a major concern of the government and farmers, and the research of the paper has important theoretical and practical significance.Due to delayed planting, lack of maintenance(weeding),insufficient fertilizer, phytosanitary and technical services Poor and so on.Therefore,it is particularly important to study the technical efficiency and influencing factors of rice growers in the region. The data used in this paper is derived from a structured questionnaire survey of farmers in the province of Uttar Pradesh in May 2021.800 questionnaires were collected, including investments in rice production(including land, capital, labor, fertilizer, and cuttings),as well as socio-economic,environmental,and physical characteristics.Based on the literature review, this paper introduces the economic and social development of the region, the development status and existing problems of the corn industry and uses the econometric model such as stochastic production method, and translog production model to study the province of Uttar Pradesh.Technical efficiency of rice producers and its influencing factors. The results show that the average technical efficiency of rice production among the sample farmers is 72%,indicating that there is room for significant improvement in rice productivity while using existing inputs and technologies. In addition,MLE results showed that artificial, irrigated and hybrid seeds had a significant positive impact on technical efficiency, while experience and tenure had a negative impact on technical efficiency. In the process of rice production, the combination of factor inputs is obviously improper, indicating that the dissemination of extension services is still insufficient. Therefore,in order to improve the efficiency of rice technology, the Government needs to concentrate on strengthening the construction of extension service network systems and encouraging farmers to participate in training sessions on the appropriate and effective use of key natural resources. |
