Study On Contemporary Capitalist Digital Labor

Since the information technology revolution since the 1990 s,the leapfrog development and multi scenario applications of digital technologies in the fields of artificial intelligence,blockchain,cloud computing,vr/ar,etc.have not only led to the reset of Western capitalist production factors and the transformation of economic paradigm,but also made contemporary western capitalism develop into "digital capitalism".Nowadays,digital technology is profoundly affecting and changing people’s way of life and production.People’s clothing,food,housing and transportation are inseparable from scientific and technological products.People’s non-material needs such as information and interaction have become diversified and personalized.These non-material needs have given birth to a new form of labor,digital labor.Different from the traditional industrial labor,digital labor has the characteristics of free labor to a large extent,but it also transforms all communication activities in the commercial society into digital labor of producing surplus value,which makes people fall into new alienation.Although Marx has already profoundly explained the law of the operation of commodity economy and the alienation of labor under the capitalist system,today’s "digital labor",a new form of labor,has shown characteristics different from Marxist labor view,and the problems in digital labor are far more complex than traditional industrial labor.At present,the research on digital labor at home and abroad is still mostly concentrated in the field of communication political economy,while the research on digital labor based on Marxist perspective is still in its infancy.How to understand the essence of digital labor,a new form of labor,how to analyze the surplus value generated by digital labor,how to avoid labor alienation in digital labor,and how to realize people’s all-round development,all these problems pose new challenges to the application of Marxist theory in the digital information age.Therefore,under the guidance of Marxist political economy,analyzing the essence and new characteristics of labor under the contemporary western capitalist digital economy and exploring the digital transformation of the form of residual value exploitation in the digital economy are not only the task of Marxist research today,but also of great practical significance to the development of digital economy and the construction of a digital power in the new era.From the perspective of classical Marxist political economy theory,on the basis of combing the definition of digital labor in academic circles at home and abroad,combined with the Marxist labor theory involved,this paper summarizes the concept and two specific forms of digital labor in contemporary capitalism.In the framework of Marxist labor value theory,this paper analyzes in detail the two factors of digital as a commodity and the value creation of digital commodities,and obtains the essence that contemporary capitalist digital labor can create surplus value through the new characteristics of digital labor.And by analyzing the performance of digital labor alienation and its root causes,this paper discusses the possible ways to eliminate digital labor alienation.Finally,combined with the actual development of China’s digital economy,from the two aspects of creating a good digital ecology and correctly treating digital labor,this paper analyzes the Enlightenment of contemporary capitalist digital Labor Research on the development of China’s digital economy,explores the non dissimilated digital labor model,and walks out of the development path of a socialist digital power with Chinese characteristics.
