In recent years,my country’s economic construction has made many outstanding achievements.According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, the GDP in 2020 will exceed one hundred billion, ranking second in the world;economic development has maintained a medium-to-high speed, economic and financial development levels have been continuously improved, and the living standards of residents have been significantly improved. But at the same time, the income gap between urban and rural areas in my country is gradually increasing. As a basic resource for economic operation, financial resources have the function of regulating social income.Financial agglomeration is the inevitable result of the development of the financial industry, and it will have an important impact on the urban-rural income gap. However, the current academic research on the relationship between financial agglomeration and urban-rural income gap is mainly from the perspectives of financial development scale and financial development efficiency, and most of them ignore the spatial effect of financial agglomeration, let alone the spatial difference of the impact.Qualitative.The spatial heterogeneity refers to the non-homogeneous phenomenon caused by the unstable relationship between the variables due to the different geographical locations. The influence of financial agglomeration is also spatially heterogeneous. For this reason, this dissertation established a spatial measurement model and a geographically weighted regression GWR model for 282 prefecture-level cities across the country, and studied this feature from the overall and prefecture-level city levels respectively.First, this dissertation sorts out the relevant literature on financial agglomeration,urban-rural income gap,and the influence of the former on the latter. The study found that the current academic circles are insufficient in the empirical research on the spatial heterogeneity of the impact of financial agglomeration on the urban-rural income gap. Therefore, the combination of financial agglomeration with the study of urban-rural income gap and spatial measurement forms the research thinking of this dissertation.Secondly, this dissertation proposes the influence mechanism of financial agglomeration on the urban-rural income gap by summarizing relevant literature, and proposes the hypothesis of this dissertation on this basis. At the same time, this dissertation explains the selected data and related variables, introduces the spatial weight matrix and empirical model used in this dissertation, and provides a theoretical basis for the subsequent creation and selection of the spatial weight matrix and empirical research.Third, this dissertation uses the spatial analysis module of Arc GIS to evaluate the spatial distribution characteristics of my country’s financial agglomeration and urbanrural income gap using the entropy index and Moran’s I index.By drawing Moran’s I scatter plot,it is found that the spatial layout of the urban-rural income gap in my country’s prefecture-level cities has serious specialized differentiation and significant spatial autocorrelation, which provides a realistic basis for subsequent empirical research. Then,by establishing and selecting a time-space weight matrix and a spatial measurement model, this dissertation conducts an empirical analysis of the spatial impact of financial agglomeration and other related factors on the urban-rural income gap in my country. The research found that:(1)The spatial distribution of the urbanrural income gap in my country has obvious spatial agglomeration. The areas with high urban-rural income ratio and low urban-rural income ratio tend to be concentrated in spatial distribution respectively;(2)Measured by the density of financial employment Financial agglomeration has a positive spatial spillover effect on the income gap between my country’s urban and rural areas;(3)The banking industry’s impact is only a direct effect, while the insurance industry is mainly a spillover effect;(4)The level of urbanization and other influencing factors not only affect the region The urban-rural income gap has a direct impact, and it also has a spillover effect on neighboring areas, while the level of education only manifests as a spillover effect. Then, this dissertation establishes a geographically weighted regression model to explore the spatial heterogeneity of the impact of financial agglomeration on the urbanrural income gap.The results showed that:(1)The effect of financial employment density on urban-rural income gap has gradually obvious spatial differentiation characteristics among different prefecture-level cities;(2)Except for a few prefecturelevel cities in Northeast China, the increase in financial employment density helps Narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas;(3)The effect of the concentration of the banking industry is mainly positive, and the scope of prefecturelevel cities affected by this effect is expanding, and the phenomenon of regional differentiation is gradually weakening;(4)The impact of the concentration of the insurance industry The effect is high in some prefecture-level cities in Shandong,Jiangsu,Anhui, and Henan provinces, and attenuates to the surrounding areas. Finally, based on the research results, this dissertation proposes countermeasures and suggestions from promoting the cross-regional flow of financial resources and formulating regional financial policies. The research in this article makes up for the lack of existing research on the spatial heterogeneity of financial agglomeration and urban-rural income gap,and provides guidance for governments at all levels to formulate policies to narrow the urban-rural income gap and coordinate regional economic development. It also contributes to regional cooperation in various regions and the rational allocation of resources.
