In the era of economic globalization,Chinese companies are also actively participating in the world economic arena. In the process of “going out” of Chinese companies, due to insufficient attention to corporate social responsibilities abroad, negative news such as environmental damage and bribery of officials continue to occur. In addition, companies also lack communication with the people of the host country, causing Chinese companies to communicate with other companies. The information gap between the people of the host country is getting deeper and deeper, which seriously affects the overseas operations of Chinese companies and the positive shaping of China’s international image.Japanese companies have rich experience in overseas social responsibility practices, especially in Southeast Asia.Japanese companies have successfully integrated into Southeast Asian society through social responsibility in the market, environment, and society, and achieved good economic benefits while increasing Japan‘s influence in Southeast Asia. Therefore, this paper selects Japanese companies‘ social responsibility practices in Southeast Asia As a research object,it explores the mystery of Japanese companies’ successful fulfillment of social responsibilities in Southeast Asia, and provides some inspiration for Chinese companies’ overseas operations.First, the paper analyzes the current situation of Japanese companies’ investment and development in Southeast Asia and the evolution of Japanese companies’ social responsibility practices in Southeast Asia from the 1950 s to the present, and summarizes the characteristics of Japanese corporate social responsibility development.Secondly, the paper analyzes the internal motivation of Japanese companies in performing social responsibilities in Southeast Asia, analyzes the strategic goals of Japanese companies in performing social responsibilities in Southeast Asia, and compares the effects of Chinese and Japanese companies in performing social responsibilities in Southeast Asia, and discovers the lagging behind Chinese companies.Thirdly, the paper chooses Toyota, which effectively fulfills its social responsibilities in Southeast Asia,as the entry point, analyzes the practices of Japanese companies, and discovers its shining points and shortcomings. Finally, combining the advantages and disadvantages of Japanese companies in fulfilling their social responsibilities in Southeast Asia, targeted suggestions are made. The paper believes that the ability of Japanese companies to efficiently perform their social responsibilities overseas is not achieved overnight, but is summarized through the constant trial and error of many companies.Chinese companies should actively learn from Japan‘s experience and increase their investment in corporate social responsibility.Especially in the current era where countries around the world are paying more attention to sustainable and healthy development,Chinese companies should not just confine themselves to immediate benefits, but should also focus on the long-term.
