With the rapid development of e-commerce in the retail industry and the difficulties in traditional retail industry,the retail enterprises have accelerated the reform of the industry.The managers are important human resources for the innovation and development of the retail enterprises.Transformational leadership has been proven to be able to stimulate employees’ development potential through communication,vision inspiration and other behaviors,thereby improving employees’ creativity.Psychological security has been proven to be able to promote the development of employees’ creativity.Employees with higher psychological security have higher risk preference and pay attention to seeking breakthroughs,while employees with lower psychological security tend to keep the status quo and develop steadily.However,at present,there are few studies on the relationship between transformational leadership and creativity from the perspective of psychology,and the mechanism among the three variables is not clear.This paper aims to further explore the impact of transformational leadership(senior managers,such as the president,vice president,general manager,CEO,chairman,etc.)on the creativity of middle managers(managers,supervisors,directors,etc.)in retail companies,and the mediating role of middle managers’ psychological security.This paper uses questionnaire survey to collect data on transformational leadership,psychological security,breakthrough creativity and progressive creativity.Then SPSS 17.0 and Amos 26.0 softwares are used to conduct an empirical analysis on 258 valid samples and draw the following conclusions:(1)All dimensions of transformational leadership(moral modeling,visionary motivation,individualized consideration and charisma)have a significant positive impact on the progressive creativity and breakthrough creativity of middle managers.(2)All dimensions of transformational leadership(moral modeling,visionary motivation,individualized consideration and charisma)have a significant positive impact on the psychological security of middle managers.(3)Psychological security has a significant positive impact on the progressive creativity and breakthrough creativity of middle managers.(4)Psychological security plays a partially mediating role between transformational leadership and the creativity of middle managers.Among which,it plays a partially mediating role between moral modeling and progressive creativity,visionary motivation and progressive creativity,individualized consideration and progressive creativity,charisma and progressive creativity,moral modeling and breakthrough creativity,charisma and breakthrough creativity,while it plays a full mediating role between visionary motivation and breakthrough creativity,individualized consideration and breakthrough creativity.This paper takes the middle managers of retail enterprises as the research object,and establishes the mechanism of “transformational leadership-psychological security-the creativity of middle managers”,which makes the research results more targeted.On the one hand,it expands the study of psychological security as a mediating variable.On the other hand,it deepens the study of two-dimensional creativity.Based on the above conclusions,this paper puts forward some suggestions to promote the development of progressive creativity and breakthrough creativity of middle managers,which has important reference value for enterprises to maintain talent advantage and enhance the development potential of managers.
