| With the popularization of mobile devices in ordinary families,mobile preschool educational products have exploded.However,mobile applications based on Multi-Touch Interfaces(MTI)reduce the interaction between children and the physical world,causing concerns among parents.Tangible User Interface(TUI),as an interactive paradigm that can couple the physical world and the digital world,can be used as an effective alternative paradigm to design preschool educational products.However,there is a lack of awareness of the advantages of TUIs in China,and no design framework and methods have been formed.Based on the above background,this research puts forward a design framework and methods for tangible preschool educational products after a large amount of research on the characteristics of children’s physical and mental development,constructivism and TUI theory,aiming to provide process-oriented methodological guidance for design practice.The framework includes four core research contents:learning indicators,persona,interaction design principles,and comprehensive experience evaluation methods,forming a circular design structure of user research-design-verification-iterative design.After proposing the design framework and methods,this research developed a tangible preschool math game "Little Flying Dragon Forest Journey",using persona to conduct user demand investigations,and follow interaction design principles to design the functional process and interfaces of the game.This design practice verified the feasibility of the framework and methods.Finally,this research designed the MTI version with the same structure as the TUI version of the game.Based on the comprehensive experience evaluation method,a comparative experiment was carried out,combining quantitative and qualitative methods such as eye tracking,observation,questionnaire and interviews to compare children’s comprehensive experience,aiming to explore the impact of the two versions on children’s learning cognition,behavior and attitude.The following conclusions were drawn: compared with the MTI version,the TUI version made children more willing to explore,lowered their cognitive load,helped children’s attention more concentrated,and made children have a more positive attitude towards learning.In addition to verifying the tangible advantages,the research conclusions further verified the effectiveness of the design framework and methods proposed in this study. |
