In everyday interpersonal communication, interruption is always considered to be disrespectful and inconsistent with the general principles of cooperation and courtesy. This form of turn-taking has been studied by scholars from various perspectives, including anthropology, sociology and psychology.Focusing on the verbal interruption behaviour of the host Sa Beining in the programme " Let’s Talk ",the paper uses case studies and other research methods to dig deeper and explore it from the perspective of pragmatics. In the course of hosting various programmes, the host will often interrupt guests who are speaking. The act of interrupting is different that from in interpersonal communication in everyday life.It is implemented as a communication skill and strategy to control the time or effectiveness of the programme, playing a vital role in the programme. When a guest deviates from the programme’s theme, expresses ambiguous content,or expresses inappropriate language and a series of other situations that are not conducive to the programme’s normal operation, the host interrupts the guest through language to guide the guest back to the topic of the conversation,in order to make the programme run smoothly and improve the overall effect of the programme. This shows that verbal interruption is an effective way for the host to take the initiative and take control of the programme, and it is also a necessary strategy and skill for the host."
