Multimodal transport refers to the same batch of goods transported by more than two modes of transport without changing the packaging method.The whole business process of multimodal transport involves multiple participating entities,and there are many problems such as no unified multimodal transport management information platform among various entities,barriers to information sharing,lack of unified documents,difficulties in supervision,difficulty in specifying responsible persons,and lack of trust.Blockchain has the features of openness and transparency,bookkeeping for all,checking for all,bearing digital currency,and safe and reliable system,which can precisely solve the development obstacles currently faced by multimodal transportation.In this paper,we firstly improve the smart contract and practical Byzantine fault-tolerant algorithm of blockchain,and propose innovative improvements on the existing disadvantages of low query efficiency,low throughput,high communication overhead and extended transaction time.Secondly,the current problems of multimodal logistics system are studied,and a multimodal logistics platform with blockchain as the architecture is proposed to be built.Participants such as multimodal operators,government-related departments,enterprises and financial institutions in the whole business process of multimodal transportation are used as nodes of the blockchain,and smart contracts are used to control the business process and serve as credentials for transactions to simplify the business process and personnel input.This paper will accomplish the following tasks.(1)propose improvements to the performance of the blockchain,and propose the following two improvements for the large transaction volume of multimodal transport business.Firstly,propose improvements to the retrieval efficiency of data in the blockchain,construct a smart contract retrieval model based on lightweight Bloom filters,and improve the standard type Bloom filters to lightweight Bloom filters to improve the retrieval efficiency and reduce the error probability.Secondly,the practical Byzantine fault-tolerant algorithm is improved,and the simplified practical Byzantine fault-tolerant algorithm(Simplified-PBFT,S-PBFT)is proposed.The algorithm introduces arbitration mechanism to solve the conflict between leaving and joining of practical Byzantine dynamic nodes,improves the consensus mechanism of practical Byzantine fault-tolerant algorithm,simplifies the three phases of consistency protocol into two phases,reduces the time delay,reduces the communication overhead,and improves the throughput of the system.improve the throughput of the system to meet the business requirements of multimodal transport.(2)Conduct in-depth research on multimodal business processes,actually investigate multimodal logistics enterprises and ports,and collect and organize the demands for multimodal transport development put forward by users.Design a multimodal logistics platform based on blockchain architecture,and complete the design and testing.After experimental testing,the results show that the blockchain-based multimodal logistics platform designed in this paper can meet the functional and performance requirements of multimodal transportation and solve the problems of lack of unified logistics information platform and repeated filling of documents in multimodal transportation.The lightweight Bloom filter improves the efficiency of retrieving data in the blockchain and increases the throughput of the blockchain.The S-PBFT algorithm proposed in this paper after improving the practical Byzantine fault-tolerant algorithm has different degrees of improvement in throughput,communication overhead and time delay.
