With the rapid development of wireless communication systems,problems such as increasing user demand and reducing spectrum resources gradually appear.Most of the traditional antennas have single functions and can’t meet the current application requirements.The reconfigurable antenna,which is developing in the direction of multi-function,large capacity and miniaturization,has become one of the hot spots of antenna development.Among them,the mechanical reconfigurable antenna has always existed in the development of reconfigurable antenna because of its unique stability and robustness.In this paper,two types of array antennas are designed based on mechanical reconfigurability,both of which can realize beam deflection function.The main research contents can be divided into two aspects:1.A highly adjustable mechanically reconfigurable array antenna is designed.We have designed a height adjustment device using the screw stepper motor with a slider and the support structure of 3D printing.The U-slot patch microstrip antenna loaded on the top of the device can achieve continuous phase shift within 360° by adjusting the height,so as to replace the phase shifter and reduce the cost.Then we designed an array of 8×8.The feasibility of the method is verified by simulation,and the array prototype is processed and tested.The experimental results show that the processed antenna can achieve beam scanning at any angle within ±40° of the XOZ plane,with a maximum gain of 23.3d Bi and aperture efficiency of 85.6%.In addition,in order to verify its wide application,the performance of near-field focusing is tested.The test results show that the antenna can also achieve the focus moving ability in the plane 150 mm away from the array surface.2.Based on the design of the first antenna,we try to put the underfed microstrip antenna designed in the original operating frequency band into the full-wave simulation model to analyze its reflection characteristics,and the excellent reflection performance presented provides ideas for the design of dual-band array antenna.Therefore,a dualband beam deflection array antenna integrated with C-band reconfigurable reflection array antenna and X-band phased array antenna is designed.The reconfigurable reflection array antenna uses height adjustment to achieve 360° continuous reflection phase shift,while the phased array antenna uses a digital phase shifter to achieve 360°continuous phase adjustment,and the antenna also has two independent feed networks and control systems.Through simulation and processing tests,beam scanning at any angle within ±40° of the XOZ plane can be achieved in both frequency bands,with a maximum gain of 14.4d Bi and 21 d Bi respectively,and aperture efficiency of 32.9%and 50.6%.
