Service-oriented IoT(Internet of Things)systems have become a primary approach for constructing IoT system architectures.IoT services,as software services in the digital world, extend their functionality to the physical world through IoT and have gradually emerged as crucial components of IoT systems. However, unlike traditional Web services,IoT services possess new characteristics such as real-world perception,data-driven operations, heterogeneous distribution, and spatiotemporal correlation. These unique features render existing service models inadequate for effectively characterizing IoT services.Consequently, these models fail to satisfy application needs such as service discovery, service unloading, and service composition in the development of IoT systems. This presents new challenges in constructing IoT service management systems. To enable unified management of IoT services, this paper conducts research on IoT service modeling, registration and discovery,as well as the design and implementation of IoT service management systems. The specific work includes the following four aspects:(1)Based on the requirements for IoT service modeling and existing IoT service models,a physical entity-data-based IoT service modeling framework is proposed that integrates the concepts of services, entities, and data. This framework defines the spatiotemporal properties and spatiotemporal dependency relationships of services, entities, and data to support spatiotemporal correlation-based representation and analysis of IoT service associations. The model’s usage and effectiveness are discussed through a highway IoT application case.(2)To address decentralized registration issues in IoT service distribution management, this paper proposes a multi-registry IoT service registration mechanism and presents the registration process under the decentralized model.A data consistency algorithm for IoT services among multiple registration centers is designed based on eventual consistency protocols. The usage and effectiveness of the IoT service registration mechanism and data consistency algorithm are discussed through four application scenarios.(3)To address the massive IoT service discovery problem, this paper proposes a spatiotemporal index-based IoT service discovery algorithm that supports efficient queries from the time and spatial dimensions. The discovery algorithm is optimized for physical entity-based queries in consideration of IoT services’ attachment to physical entities.Experiment results using an IoT service simulation dataset designed based on actual application scenarios show that the proposed algorithm significantly reduces the search space during querying and effectively shortens the time required for constructing spatiotemporal indexes and performing IoT service queries.(4)Based on open-source frameworks and software such as Spring Boot and Nacos, this paper designs and implements an IoT service management system that uses front-end and back-end separation technology. The front-end is implemented based on the Lay UI framework, and the back-end is implemented based on the Spring Boot framework. The system realizes full lifecycle management of IoT service registration,IoT service query, and IoT service visualization display, laying the foundation for subsequent research on IoT service unloading and IoT service composition.
