As the dimension reduction representation of the model,the medial axis is widely used in the industrial field because of its good performance.With the continuous development of the application of the medial axis,the industrial standard for the medial axis is also higher and higher.Therefore,many scholars have studied the method of generating the medial axis of the model.Based on the research of the existing methods of generating the medial axis at home and abroad,this thesis proposes a method of generating the medial axis of the model based on binormal tracking.(1)The existing method of generating the medial axis is mainly based on the idea of approximate medial axis,which uses the results obtained by medial axis approximation as the model medial axis,so that the quality of the generated medial axis is not very high.To solve this problem,this thesis proposes a dual normal tracking method to generate the medial axis of the model.Based on the normal tracking results,using the mathematical definition of the medial axis,an effective calculation method of the medial axis point is proposed,which provides an effective guarantee for the quality of the final medial axis of the model.(2)The medial axis of the solid model is the medial axis surface.In order to get the effective medial axis of the model according to the medial axis point,this thesis uses the principle of topological consistency to transform the medial axis point to the medial axis surface.The way of transformation is to connect the medial axis points according to the principle of topological consistency.The medial axis surface obtained from this method can ensure the topological correctness and integrity of the medial axis of the final model.(3)In order to verify the performance of the method,this thesis designs and analyzes the specific implementation of the method.In order to effectively improve the time efficiency of the method based on binormal tracking,this thesis integrates the parallel idea into the implementation process of binormal tracking.The overall implementation of the method uses visual studio and opencascade development platform to program the case program,and uses3 DMAX to create the model,Cuda6.5 is used for parallel normal tracking,and meshlab is used for interactive rendering of experimental results.
