The augmented reality display is an emerging display method for museums in the context of new technologies,which is not the ideal effect in actual display at present due to the imperfection of the technology itself and the lack of specific combined theory.Most of the research on augmented reality display in museums focuses on the level of technical implementation and application advantages,but less on the effect and audience experience in practical application,and no systematic theoretical strategy has been formed.In the context of experience economy,the relationship between museums and audiences has changed to one in which the audience is the main focus.How to meet the physiological and psychological needs of audience in the new exhibition form is an urgent problem to be solved at present.This study,based on the theory of emotional design,museum augmented reality display design as the research object,from the three levels of emotional design theory,analyses the application form and advantages and disadvantages of augmented reality in display design,carding the design elements related to exhibition and emotion,summarizing the design principles from multiple perspectives of communication,audience’s experience and emotion,and putting forward targeted design strategy.Finally,a case is introduced to analyze the embodiment of emotional design in museum augmented reality display design.The study found that: introducing the concept of emotional design into museum augmented reality display design can solve the current problem of exhibit form over content,enrich the cultural and educational connotation of exhibits and improve the emotional experience effect of the audience.The three levels of instinct,behavior and reflection of emotional design are interconnected and interact in the museum’s augmented reality display.Using the five senses design to fully stimulate the audience’s instinctive perception can heighten the emotional atmosphere of the exhibition and cause the audience to resonate.Using augmented reality technology to add storytelling and highlight artistry to the exhibition,and establishing an exhibits contact information set and cosmological views and audience personality portraits in the scope of the museum,on the on hand,can build on the strengths and avoid the weaknesses,solving the problem of imperfection of augmented reality technology at this stage and providing better display effects for the audience.On the other hand,it can enhance the value of the museum exhibition and open the way for the future development of the museum.This study provides systematic theoretical support for the combination of museum augmented reality display design and emotional design concepts,and proposes solutions to the problem of insufficient display effects at this stage.
