Blended teaching,as a brand-new modern education method,has been widely concerned by the educational academic field.It is a teaching mode that gives students greater creativity,while intercultural competence is an essential ability requirement for contemporary youth in the process of globalization.As these two different types of measures to meet the challenges of the new era,how to cultivate students’ intercultural competence under blended teaching mode has become a new topic.Therefore,this study attempts to study the actual situation of blended teaching mode from the perspective of intercultural competence cultivation.In addition,the commonness between Minzu education and intercultural education urges to narrow the research scope in Minzu colleges,and deeply understand the appropriateness and specific ways of cultivating students’ intercultural competence under the blended teaching mode of courses in Minzu colleges,so as to provide tips for all kinds of colleges and universities to carry out blended teaching in the future.By using the methods of literature review,questionnaire survey and semi-structured interview,this study investigates the blended teaching mode adopted in the course of Minzu Education in M University and the changes of students’ intercultural competence.On the basis of describing the content,objectives and effects of the course,using the relevant knowledge of intercultural communication theory and teaching process optimization theory,this paper focuses on how Minzu colleges can use the blended teaching mode to exert its influence on improving students’ intercultural competence in terms of knowledge,attitude and skills.Based on this,this paper comprehensively summarizes the experience in the practice process,and then finds out the shortcomings in the current teaching mode,and there are still three problems in content,facilities and teachers’ ability,which need further exploration.In addition,the blended teaching mode in Minzu colleges has certain flexibility,and the understanding of intercultural competence is in line with international standards while fully combining the characteristics of Minzu education and highlighting the characteristics of China.
