Mathematics learning motivation is an important motivation that affects students’ learning effect and promotes students’ independent learning.In practical teaching,the problem of "students are not willing to learn and are not interested in learning" troubles many teachers.The effective use of motivational strategies can stimulate students’ motivation and interest in learning mathematics,improve the overall class quality and vitality,and fundamentally improve the learning effect and efficiency.Based on the ARCS motivation model,this study improved the coding framework and tested the consistency of coding in combination with the characteristics of the subject.Teachers’ classroom teaching behaviors in high quality mathematics classes and normal mathematics classes in junior middle school were taken as the research object and the coding analysis of teachers’ classroom teaching behaviors was conducted.Literature analysis method was used to grasp the research status of ARCS motivation model at home and abroad.NVivo qualitative analysis software was used to analyze the coding of lesson cases by teaching video observation method.Comparative analysis was used to conduct in-depth research,and finally put forward effective research suggestions.The research mainly resolves the following questions:(1)What are the similarities and differences in the application of ARCS strategies by teachers in high quality mathematics classes and normal mathematics classes in junior high schools?(2)What kind of motivation and strategy application mode do the teachers of high quality mathematics courses at the ministerial level have?Based on the macroscopic overall analysis and cluster analysis,density analysis and dynamic curve analysis of 14 high quality lessons and 14 normal lessons,the following research conclusions are drawn :(1)on the whole,the proportion of attention strategy use is the highest in the two lessons and runs throughout the class;The overall use frequency of motivational strategies in quality class is much higher than that in normal class.High-quality class motivation strategy cross use more,using more balanced proportion structure.(2)the specific lesson,quality class,coding distribution more dense coding node,node sparse coding normal class,cross use,less dynamic curve is blank period.(3)the high quality class using the pattern research,by the clustering analysis class divided into quality attention to strategy and diversity strategy,using the model are as follows: Pay attention to the mode of classroom introduction with strategies and related strategies;The new knowledge inquiry mode is based on inquiry strategy and supplemented by change strategy;The consolidation application mode of confidence strategy and satisfaction strategy.Based on the analysis of the research results,several suggestions are put forward to improve the application level of motivation strategies for junior middle school mathematics teachers :(1)pay attention to students’ motivation state and attach importance to the application value of motivation strategies;(2)Create rich problem situations to stimulate the desire for inquiry,and relevant strategies to break students’ sense of distance from new knowledge;(3)Heuristic,interactive,inquiry-based teaching,effective cooperative learning,harmonious classroom atmosphere;(4)Pay attention to the transfer and application of knowledge,positive guidance,praise and encouragement;(5)Cross-use motivational strategies to engender motivation in class.(6)Improve knowledge literacy and focus on professional development.
