| Students’ development of core literacy is emphasized by General High School Biology Curriculum Standards(2017),among which improving students’ inquiry ability is an indispensable part of the core literacy.Therefore,the cultivation of inquiry ability is a major task in current quality education,and so is the ways of cultivating students’ inquiry ability,necessarily taking "5E" teaching mode into account.However,there is still lack of in-depth research on what positive impacts "5E" teaching model has on students’ inquiry ability in the teaching of biology."5E" teaching mode is a teaching mode based on the theory of constructivism,which has a wide influence on teaching both in China and abroad.The "5E" teaching model is divided into five parts,including exploration,explanation,migration and evaluation.This paper mainly discusses the influences of the "5E" teaching mode in the biology teaching on the development of various structural elements of students’ inquiry ability in high schools,which can provide reference for the further research on the mechanism of the "5E" teaching mode in the development of students’ inquiry ability,as well as better guiding biology teaching in high schools.The paper figures out the structural elements of inquiry ability,the current situation of the cultivation of inquiry ability,the theories related to the "5E" teaching mode and the achievements in the practice of the "5E" teaching mode by means of literature research.In order to compare "5E" teaching mode seen on chapter five compulsory book two and traditional teaching mode,through the teaching experiment,the author firstly chose two classes of the same level,one class as comparative class whose students are taught by traditional teaching mode and the other one as experimental class whose students were exposed to "5E" teaching mode.Then after a particular period of teaching,the two classes were tested by an examination which aims to study students’ inquiry ability.By analyzing and summarizing experiment data with Excel software basically,and then SPSS 21.0 statistical analysis software in degree,the author figures out the influences on the development of various structural elements of students’ inquiry ability in high schools.According to what has been researched above,the paper puts forward that "5E" teaching mode is beneficial to making the teaching design.Moreover,the paper regards the general design ideas and methods based on "5E" teaching mode as an effective way to enhance students’ inquiry ability.For example,when a teacher gets to lead-in part,it is necessary for them to present teaching objectives clearly and thoughtfully,which will stimulate students’ interest in and curiosity about what will be taught.Then,the teacher needs to choose effective learning tasks which can be completed either by hand or by mind and rely on efficient teaching activities to make teaching objectives achieved better,such as physical rendering,teachers’ questions and teachers’ explanations.The findings of the research confirm that "5E" teaching mode is beneficial to the cultivation of the students’ inquiry ability,mainly including promoting students’ analysis ability,forming their summary ability and the ability to put forward hypothesis and design experiments.However,"5E" teaching mode has no significant influence on improving students’ reflection ability. |
