Abstract/Summary:
In this digital era,social media networking websites are very popular and have become daily practice in a lot of people’s lives.However,social media is not only a communication tool for fun,but it’s also an important part of marketing strategies in business life.In developed countries,social media are attaining popularity and progressively used in regular operations of many businesses such as;startups,small and medium-sized enterprises,and large organizations.But it seems that in under-developing economies e.g.,Pakistan and other neighbor countries,social media marketing is not taken that seriously,specially by startups.There are some businesses who have shown interest and have created their presence,yet there is no serious focus on this innovative marketing tool.The core purpose of this research is to deal with the issues of social media marketing and its influence on startups in Pakistan.First,this thesis classifies social media and explores the possibilities and challenges of social media networks in business.The author outlines the features and evolution of social media,including major social media networking websites that came into existence during the 21stcentury.Then,this study offers useful resources to analyze the types of research that needs to be pursued to make additional research progress in the related area of social media marketing.In this research,the qualitative method is used in order to identify opportunities,challenges and determine the factors that drive social media marketing adoption and usage in startups in Pakistan.Meanwhile,this paper proposed continuous interaction and communication with existing and potential customers to strengthen the relationship between business and customers,and through social media marketing strategies such as;word-of-mouth(WOM)marketing,content marketing,etc.,to increase sales and brand awareness,and more opportunities to expand business.The aim of this paper is to find-out the opportunities and challenges of using social media marketing strategies and their possible solutions to overcome those challenges for Pakistani startups,as well as identifying factors that influence social media marketing adoption and usage in startups.The research of this article will also help Pakistani startups to understand how social media can be used in their marketing and other business activities.
