The revision of the curriculum programme in the General High School Thought and Politics Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition Revised 2020)points to the need to equip students with ideal beliefs and a sense of social responsibility as its cultivation objectives.At the same time,the curriculum standards specify the core qualities of the subject of thought and politics,which include political identity concerning the establishment of students’ ideal beliefs,the unique value of which is a belief supported by scientific theories,i.e.an ideal belief based on political identity.In the face of the current context of ideological pluralism and social informatization,the main focus of high school students is on theoretical knowledge,and the exploration of the essence of culture is neglected.For this reason,it is necessary to strengthen the cultivation of students’ ideals and beliefs in the high school ideology and politics classroom,so that they can become knowledgeable and cultured future reserves of society.This thesis focuses on the basic concept of ideals and beliefs,the content of ideals and beliefs in textbooks and the shortcomings and causes of teaching ideals and beliefs based on them,and the strategies for better teaching of ideal beliefs in the teaching of ideological and political science classes,which are systematically explained in four parts,as follows:The first part elaborates the necessity of this paper’s research and the relevant connotation of the subject term,mainly introducing the definition of the concept of ideal belief and the fact that the teaching of ideal belief should aim at the Chinese dream and help students shape the correct values by implementing the core qualities of the ideology and politics subject in high school,in order to cope with the urgent need to cope with the impact of ideological infiltration in the new western era,expecting to cultivate young students to be the new man of the times.The second part focuses on the analysis of the contents of ideal beliefs in the four compulsory textbooks of the Ministry of Education based on students’ questionnaire data and teachers’ summaries,and the statistical analysis of the distribution of typical elements of ideal beliefs and the collation and analysis of categories,in the hope that the ideal beliefs covered by ideological and political science teachers in the teaching process are based on the textbooks but at the same time contemporary and can be changed in accordance with the learning situation.The third part is based on the current situation of teaching ideals and beliefs in the teaching process of ideology and politics classes through offline lectures and interviews in the teaching practice,and analyses the shortcomings reflected in the teaching of ideals and beliefs in ideology and politics classes from three aspects: lack of effectiveness,insufficient diversity of methods and students’ sense of experience to be optimised.The causes are delineated and argued from the perspective of the teacher,the school and the teaching materials.The fourth part,based on the problems and causes presented above,systematically elaborates on how teachers can enhance the quality of ideal beliefs,integrate and explore ideal beliefs teaching resources,improve and innovate ideal beliefs teaching methods,and improve the evaluation system of ideal beliefs teaching,which are four specific aspects to propose strategies to better promote the effectiveness of ideal beliefs education in ideological and political science classes and to give full play to the unique role of ideological and political science classes. |
